That\'s funny,  because my PS2 just a week ago did\'nt read blue disc too. I just use a DVD-CD lens cleaner about 3X and it plays 100% now.  :D

Dude, there\'s something wrong with your PS2, you better go figure out something to do and fix it!:p

Anyway, try gamedoctor.

Did you clean off the dust in front of the ps2.  There is a vent for ventilation.  If it gets too much dust blocking it, then it is bad.  Use a vacuum tube and suck off the dust on the vent.  That\'s what I did for my ps2.  I didn\'t notice there are dust in front until I read the instruction.

dude, thats some scary stuff. I know one guy that actually opened up his ps2 and found so much dust within it - when he removed all the dust his ps2 was running fine again. I\'m not suggesting that u do the same. I\'m just saying that\'s usually the problem - be careful thast u don\'t do anything to make it worse.

The warranty is over, I did take the cover off and used air to get the dust out, still doing the same thing,  What is the "game doctor"?

The DVD-CD lens cleaner (on a cd) did not work, it would not read the cleaner cd.

Have you dropped (doesn\'t have to be high) or knocked into the ps2?

Anyways, it sounds knackered, send it to be fixed properly.

I\'ve heard if the 12 month warranty is over you can send your PS2 to sony and they will fix it for £30 but it\'s worth it as you\'ll save £170 getting it fixed instead of buying one...the number for Sony Europe should be in the book but just ask...
I wouldn\'t take it to some seedy back alley repair shop, they\'ll either rip you off or just make it worse.
I hope I\'ve helped

well my friend, seeing as how I had to send mine in for repairs for similar reasons I can tell you exactly how long it will take, how much it will cost, and what a wast of money it would be if you sent it in.

1.it will cost 120.00 dollars for you to send it in for repairs.

2. the only thing that is wrong with you ps2 is it has a "dusty lens"

3. when ps2 was released last year they were rushing them out to feed the shortage, in the process they were putting faulty disk readers in, could it be related to you problem, probably.

4 you will get it back within 4 weeks because the problem was so minor you could have done it yourself.

I had to send mine in about  5 months ago and I guarantee you, after the new 90 day warranty runs out, it WILL do the same thing over, so my recommendation to you is to go to walmart and say you got itfor a b-day present but you lost the receipt and you just want to exchange it for a new one becuase yours is faulty, if they agree when you get your PS2, MAKE SUR YOU HAVE THE 30001R model, thats the newest model they have made:)

after 3 months my ps2 started crapping out agin so i took it to my work "K Mart" and just switched it for the new model, works like new lol.

EDIT: i have no clue where your from so if your from the U.S. follow my word :), if not DOH!

No, no.  You don\'t need to open the cover, there is a vent on the front side of the ps2.  You know, the vent underneath the controller/memory cards port.  (lower left side of the ps2 disc tray).  Anyway, I doubt that\'s the problem causing ps2 to unread disc after I see your response.  But check the vent anyway...
