I\'m having some problems getting my PC to work properly again, and I\'m about stumped as to where to go from here. Ok, here\'s the problem. The Motherboard I bought offa my Brother in law dosen\'t have CPU clock settings in the BIOS.. it\'s controlled by jumpers on the board, which they had been playin around with. Now, I can\'t seem to get my AMD200mhzMMX processor to reach speeds of over 40mhz. After playin around with it long enough, I finally got an old P133 processor to run at full speed.. which is what I\'m using now. I know the board is capable of using my AMD200, because I\'ve seen faster processors working fine in it before..
What i need is a manual for that motherboard which can explain the Jumper settings. I have the Bios # and the manufacturer.. but still haven\'t been able to find anything even remotely helpful on the net. Alot of the sites I visit have conflicting information, but I\'m pretty sure it\'s an Award (AMI) Apollo Master series board.
Any ideas on where I can find some RELIABLE information?
If I could jus upgrade the board to one that can handle a AMD-K2 chip or higher I\'d rather do that... but my case is set up for Socket 7 boards. Anyone know if they still make newer motherboards in Socket 7 configuration? What\'s the highest speeds they\'re available in?
Jus throwing out this case is not an option for me. If I have to keep it at a P200 and jus build a new PC from scratch for better preformance, I will.
THX.
