[yeah, yeah, I know -- IGN writing at its finest :rolleyes: ]November 27, 2001 It has come to the attention of IGN that many strange and amusing unfounded rumors presently swirl concerning the retail availability of Grand Theft Auto III, DMA Design\'s brilliant PlayStation 2 crime simulator. The game, which is presently hard to find in some areas due to slow production and delivery of new print runs, is now being sold via online auction sites for ridiculous prices. The enterprising young con artists hawking said wares, whose prices have reached hilarious levels ($60-100), claim that the game has been removed from retail shelves entirely, will soon be removed from shelves entirely, or will be replaced by a version with less violence, gore, hookers, rocket launchers, cop-killing, and all that other fun stuff. This is, of course, utter nonsense, according to both us and representatives of the game\'s publisher, Rockstar Games. Any difficulty you may have in finding a copy of GTA3 is merely temporary, and will be alleviated by the production of new copies soon. In the meantime, rest assured that the profiteers will be dealt with shortly, possibly through application of this keen new Louisville Slugger that Rockstar was kind enough to send by the office. To anyone who would buy or sell GTA3 for an inflated price, we mock thee. Ha.
