Madden 2002

I just bought this game tonight with my final paycheck from work. and so far I love it. One of the main reasons I bought this game is to play multiplayer and Im not dissappointed at all so far. The graphics are great and the gameplay is wonderfull. I havent played any football games since 64 so this is a very very drastic change. Well, I played a little bit of NFL 2K1 on dreamcast but this IMO is way better. They have Madden Trading cards in the game which you can get using what they call tokens, which are achieved by completing Madden Challenges... For instance, If you complete a 90 yard touchdown pass, or Return a punt for a touchdown(which isnt an easy task at all) you get a certain amount of tokens which add up so you can get a pack of cards, and theres a lot of challenges and a whole hell of a lot of cards to get so it will take awhile before you get all of them. You can also trade cards with someone else if they have some in thier memory cards also. I thinks its great for them to add stuff like this in games. I was going to wait for Sega Sports NFL 2K2 which I know will be a blow out but... Madden is classic.
I havent even gone through each game mode yet but I will back to that after Ive had the game for at least two-three days.
Anyway, If any of you are thinking about getting this game... do so. Its worth it. THE best footbal game out to date IMO. :smokin:

Yes i agree,I got it yesterday,and WOOOOOOO,this game is great,I never really Like maddens till Now,and the Create a Team is cool,I like the Stadium Editor and Jerseys,My Team is the NY Hitmen heh,like from XFL.So buy it,Its Great

Theres one flaw that I have found so far. But Im not sure if its exactly a flaw yet but... Is there any way to play defence training mode? All I can get around to do is offencive plays and its like wtf!

Madden 2002 is a good game, but there\'s one thing I really don\'t like about it:  the realism!  My team is the Cowboys, and they suck just as much in this game as they do in real life...I cut Tony Banks, made Quincy Carter my starter, and I am stinking up the league at 1-5 so far (on all-pro, by the way).  QC has a nice deep ball in the game, but not much else...played Madden 2001 through on all-pro, and I don\'t want to move the difficulty down, but it\'s getting a little humbling.  I did beat the Flutie-led Chargers, though...

Um.. not to be an ass but the last time I checked that was realism. The team being just as sh*ty on the game as in real life... thats a bad thing? Its not the games fault the Cowboys suck. oh and BTW, I find the computer fricking hard in this game. Its a total challenge to get wins so I dont think its just you and your faulty Cowboys. :cool:

Madden 2002 is definately an awesome game.  However, there is one flaw that pops up now and then that really annoys me.

      Sometimes after the snap( during pass plays) you cannot pull up the passing icons at all and there is a strange triangle thingy over one of the receivers heads.  I have yet to find an explanation for this.  It also happened to me in Madden 2001.  If anybody knows what this is and if there is a solution please let me know.

That\'s the point, dude...I was messin\' around...but usually, you can pick the worst team in the NFL on these games and still manage to win the Super Bowl...unfortunately, as I\'ve learned by using my real team, in Madden, if you want to win using the worst team in the NFL, you must play through a couple of years first.

I\'m glad you guys think its cool. I\'ve got it on Layby and I have nearly payed it off.

I\'m from New Zealand so I dont really get to follow the NFL but I love the games.

It could be an analog problem. It could be that you are playing with a regular ps analog controller? Ive heard of the same problem but havent gottent it with mine(knock on wood), To the exception I dont play with regular playstation Analog controllers. Im not sure what it is or how to fix it but Im hella looking into it to try and figure it out.

oh and RAMS and VIKINGS ALL THE WAY BAYBEEE! Or perhaps my created team... The Alcoholics.. LOL. :smokin: :nut:

Now no one start bashing me for this but come on EA.  I enjoy there games and feel that they dominate every sport except for Basketball...(NBA2k2) but they seem to be little money grubbing people as of late.  Take NHL 2002 for instance.  Im from Michigan and I love our Wings but the rosters suck for the game.  I forgot it already but i think it was that Pat Verbeek was still on the team and Brett Hull was still with Dallas or something.  If they would just wait for a while to get the correct rosters it would make the game a little better.

I figured out what the triangles are after you snap the ball.
You can toggle the passing icons off and on. I have no idea why but, after the snap, if you press triangle it will turn the passing icons off. So if you have the time, hit triangle again and turn them back on.. then you can pass.

Hello , can you tell me whoe else is missing in the rosters in madden 2k2?.
I hate it when the players name\'s are numbers.

You can turn the icons off so you can run with your quarterback instead of passing it. This isnt advised though on most occasions.


Yea, I got this game yesterday. It rocks. And thats coming from a forigner who loves his rugby.
