what the hell is with these newbs lately, and thier "deep" pro-ps2 posts?

Simple.  They are questioning their purchase of a PS2 and need other PS2 fans to reassure them that they made the right decision.  It\'s sad really.
When all is said and done...the PS2 will be remembered as the console with the best games in Fall 2001.

I will wait a year for the games to come out before I get a GC or XBOX, as I did with the PS2.

Sony dissapointed me very much at launch time.

With 1 year passed, they have certainly impressed me with quality software.

Lets hope after metal gear it gets better. No Worse.
I met him 15 years ago, I was told there was nothing left, no reason, no concious, no understanding and even the most rudamentory sense of life or death, good or evil, right or wrong, I met this 6 year old child with this blang pale emotionless face and, the blackest eyes, the devils eyes, I spent 8 years trying to reach him, and then another 7 trying to keep him locked up because I realised what was living behind that boys eyes was purly and simply evil.

As you said, they are \'good\' games, but just not worth spending $300 on a PS2.

Xbox maybe ps2 on steroids but sony is the inovator never the duplicator, i would never question my purchase of this console that is ridiculous, the xbox has the perks of better graphics and a better processor

News flash: Sony innovated nothing--everthing was done for them by N and Sega.  Sony just made a good console out of old ideas.

third is to conceal the absence of ideas.

New technology doesn\'t mean innovative games.
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
