Stanzo - Concerning WRC
« on: November 28, 2001, 04:56:05 PM »
This is gonna sound really dumb, but are there any puddles in WRC???

I have heard that this is something that has been missed in the game, the ability to drive through creek beds, puddles etc.

If there not in it, then WHY???

Puddles are like such a big thing in Rallying, I mean, every rally race I have watched on TV, theres always been a puddle or creek that the drivers RAM thier way through.

I think that this is a small detail that shouldn\'t have been missed, especially since its supposed to be such a realistic representation of the sport.

THANKS

You have a point there Racer.. There isn\'t any puddles in this version of the game.. but..
I honestly believe, seeing that there allready working on the sequel, that they would have
held back some things to put in the second version. they\'ll need some sort of \'new features\' to sell the game.
Otherwise it would probably get poor ratings, seeing as it would just be the same game with new tracks.

does this make sense to anyone or am i talking total ****e lol

You could have a point, but I think its doubtful that they held back on some easy things to implement just so that they can put it in the sequal.

I mean, If I was creating a game, I would want to make it as good as possible so I could make the most money, sell the most copies possible.

It just doesn\'t add up as to why they didnt include this, and I mean, its not as though a creek bed or two would take up all the PS2\'s memory...

Understood m8.. You have a fair argument and i also thought about it but i have no other way of thinking
why they have left this feature out.. let\'s be hopefull that they have proper water-splashes in the next version.

Yeah, lets hope so, I mean, I am a pretty big rally fan, and this is just something small that I think should have been put in the game.

So, when its raining in a race, theres no mud either?

yeah would have been nice to have puddles in Kenya, Argentina and Acropolis but i guess there\'s only so much the makers of the game could have made.  agree with the point that it\'d be a good selling point for any future releases of the game.

The only real difference that you notice is that the cars kick up chunky mud when it\'s been raining..

Rally Cross was on the PSX. Way back in early 1996. :)

Yes, that game was alota fun.

Stanzo, what fps do you think WRC runs at??? I have seen it and would say 30-40, but then thats kinda slow...

Also, have you unlocked PRO yet? I have heard on another board that its really good, and its alot harder, and that your car behaves in a harder manner, and that the damage is alot more severe, and alot more unforgiveing.

Racer, it\'s a rock solid 50fps m8. no slowdown whatsoever and iv\'e played it for hours and been through
all the stages.. In pro mode i\'m begining to struggle a little bit esp. in the later contries.
This is a good thing.. if youre just trying to keep on the road without taking any risks you tend to loose
time to the other drivers so you need to take risks over crests and try to go flat out when you co-driver
calls a caution. It\'s comming into it\'s own now, esp since iv\'e unlocked the hard difficulty setting.
It could be just me but i believe that the car in hard mode becomes more \'skiddy\'. the handling is the same
but it seems that theres less traction.

Yeah.. it\'s begining to test me now
