X-Box (my opinion)
« on: November 30, 2001, 11:39:17 AM »
All this anti-X-box nonsense is getting to me. Microsoft want to enter the console market.....so, they make the most powerful, feature-packed-ferrari-of-a-machine....and what do they get? People downing the X-box left, right, and centre.

Now forget Microsofts history. Forget Bill Gates. Look at the ****ing console! It\'s a powerhouse! Now, it may not have too many great games now, but think about the potential. Think about what the harddrive will do.......massive, huge worlds with small loading times.....with amazing graphics, and with loads of action going on screen without a drop in framerate........

Plus, developers will be able to do this easily, since the X-box is easy to program for. And, why oh why are people *****ing about the measly extra £30 you have to spend for DVD? That\'s nothing!! Its only bloody £30 for God\'s sake!!

If the X-box fails, it will be a missed oppotunity.....great, amazing games could be made on this machine, games impossible on PS2 or GC.......games that will make your jaw drop....it\'s a very powerful machine....wait for it, and be patient, and hopefully, some more great games will come out........

(by the way, I\'m not an X-box fanboy......I have a PSX, PS2, and an N64, along with loads of old consoles...just to let you know ;) )

Someone tries to quell the XBox bashing, NOT trying to make you worship it, and you have to call him a retard?
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Nice point QuDDus I bought the PS2 at launch and waited for the killer games we have now but there were some nice games on the way that made it worth my buy. Now I have a X-box and I am very happy to have it. Halo, Munch, Fever, and Obi Wan along with Bloodwake, WWF are great games just after launch. Both are great systems to have. I also want a GC but looking down the pipeline I only see Rouge Squadron right now. I will break down and get it after a while because it is a great machine as well.

I got mine almost exclusivly for the LoK games, GTA3, and MGS2.  After I pick up Silent Hill 2 I don\'t care about any other games for the PS2, boring IMO.

I\'m all for the X-box and PS2 but in the end I opted for a PS2 for several reasons.  The main point of contention for me was the size of the X-Box, I\'m on the road quite a lot and did not want to be lugging around a unit that was the size of a PC - I cant wait to see the X-Box carry case (or should we say backpack or suitcase?).

The X-Box on paper has far greater specifications than anything else on the market and no doubt it will do well.  lets just hope the X-Box is not as prone to failure as other Microsoft products.

mcb you are ignorant.

xbox is not the size of a PC.  Now I know you were using hyperbole, but that kind of mindless bashing will get you unliked around here in a hurry.  Keep being a complete close-minded-fanboy and no one will take you seriously.

Well have fun on the road, but the xbox isn\'t going to take up much more space than your PS2--a couple inches  isn\'t enough to break anyone one way or another unless of course we are talking about little people, and by little people I mean smurfs.

Microsoft\'s products prone to failure?  I don\'t know what world you live on but on my world MS is about the smartest, largest and richest company out there.  I suspect you are referring to Windows?  I have windows on my PC and my PC doesn\'t crash. Period.  You don\'t expect your car to run smoothly for 10 years without maintaining it, no one should expect a computer to either.

Now programs, yes they crash.  Diablo 2 was unplayable and crashed daily for the first 2 months.  Is this windows\' fault?  No.  But try saying that to ignorant people, not unliike yourself.

i dont respect xbox because...there simply is nothing to respect about it. Few titles that are actually worth buying to look forward too. Gamecube is a better choice IMO
