hopefully i mdae the right decision

after about 2 weeks of debating whether to get xbox or ps2, i have finally decided on going with the ps2.

Dude do not fret it

If you are going toget only one system your choice was smart IMO

The PS2 has more support and more games available to choose from. All genres are convered well


My opinion on Xbox is wait a year let it get up to speed then maybe pick it up on its 1st price reduction. Right now it has a few cool games but can\'t match the PS2\'s awesome lineup

I will get an Xbox in the future but right now the PS2 has too much going for it and I could not find the time to play a 2nd system

Yes, you can always buy a XBox later when you feel the need. Now you have the choice of a lot of great games.

And yeah, and finally here it is: my first post on broadband :D I`m ready for online gaming now, woot!

I agree. Currently the PS2 is better. Lets hope it remains that way.

I had the same dilema, and also decided to get PS2.

- better games
- better controller
- better looking. It actually looks like it\'s made today, compared to the whole X thing which is already so old. X was popular ten years ago, and I was surpised Microsoft couldn\'t come up with something less cheezy.
- feeling that inside is something that is actually inventive, and not a bunch of the PC components that I already have in the box across the room.

Welcome to forum!  :D  You did a good choice by getting PS2 because of the line up of games.   Today I was at the SoftWare Etc. and for the first time I have seen the DOA3 playing form the hardware and it blows my mine.  If I was you I would have gotten the Xbox now and wait untill the PS3 comes out but sorry guys, I hope PS2 graphics can keep up with the Xbox.  I seen also some video playback on GameCube line up and looks like the system suffer lots of clippings in the frame rates.

You\'re basing a console purchase off of graphics alone

thats blasphemy for a diehard gamer I thought.

Xbox will have better grpahics, but Xbox still needs another year to really get cooking

I\'ve played DOA3 in the EB kiosk, and surprisingly, I wasn\'t wery impressed. It looked too much like DOA2 to me. I guess character models were too much like the old DOA.

As for Halo, I was even less impressed. It looked less impressive than Giants or Alice on a PC. Characters were very dull and unimaginatively designed.

I prefer original concept and original look over any graphic tricks, and so far MGS2 and ICO look like nothing I\'ve seen before.
