That\'s what I thought before I purchased the Sharkport.  Unfortunately, it is not just a plain USB cord.  There is actually a small device in the middle which connects two USB cords.  If you do purchase the Sharkport, take note that the installation instructions may not be correct.  The one I purchased had old software and the installation was nothing like the manual.  The old software didn\'t work correctly with the Gameshark website as far as downloading Gamesaves and Codesaves was concerned.  I downloaded the latest software from their website and was able to get it running correctly after 20-30 minutes of hacking at it.   There are a few annoying issues such as having to reset the PS2 when changing memory cards, but overall the Sharkport works well.
