I myself used to run a .com wrestling website, and my account was terminated for adding more "mature" content.. And it was stuff that was not necessarily porno as luckee mentioned.
So it all comes down to the ads..
No ads = no revenue.
No revenue = no site/forums.
Dude, we aren\'t talking about a "mature" section. It\'s not like we are going to post nudes and stuff. We are just saying that if we want to talk about something that is on the edge of being risque then we don\'t have to worry about it being closed.
I also think this would tone down sex talk in the Off Topic forum.
Actually now that I think of it, the OT would slack off quite a bit because all the cool people would come over to the adult section.
As far as giving ID or whatever to know if someone is mature. I think it\'s something you gain access to like our defunct tribal dragons section.
It\'s pretty obvious after seeing people post who the youngsters are and who the more adult college + people are. We could make it a private thing where we actually vote who gets in or not. We could even max out at 20 people and the only way to let new people in is if someone dies. hehehe. Just kidding, but anyway. This will never happen anyway so peace out...
I almost forgot. Serran wrap mentioned something about ad companies not being happy with an adult section. Having already said this isn\'t a vulgar section we are talking about. Just a place where we don\'t have to worry about stuff being closed for very weak reasons. Do you really think Ad companies would have a problem with an adult section for people over 18? Huh??? Are you nuts? Um, people post ads to get money. How many people under 18 make over 70 grand a year? I have a feeling ad companies couldn\'t care less about you sub 18 year olds. As a matter of fact they really only care about 18-35 year olds.
Oh, and on another note. This is the most action this suggestion area has gotten in months.
