I came away slightly dissappointed

I\'ll still get the game but those turn based random battles need to go in future FF\'s. Or come up with a turn based system that allows for more strategy than just sitting there choosing attacks from menus
I also was under the impression that it was more of a seamless 3d world instead of walking off the screen and on to the next.

I couldn;t figure out how to do a ( can\'t remeber the name correctly)  ____ break move. My bar is all filled up and its flashing but I couldn\'t trigger the move

Of course the demo doesn\'t do anything but lightly scratch the surface of the game itself and it will probably get alot more interesting once in the meat of it.

Only played through both levels once though, and I didn\'t really understand the menu systems or at least it seemed like there was more to do then what I was doing

I freakin\' loved it!

(ddarl, On the menue, push LEFT to get your overbreak option)

Going from screen to screen isn\'t too bad, the transition takes only 2 seconds.  Transition time to battles is amazing!

And yes, there can be a little choppiness, but compare it to FFIX, and the graphics are more than ten fold.

I absolutely love the way FFX works summons!

Details are absolutely amazing!  The smoothness of the flight of flying creatures, the belts that make up Lulu\'s dress, the light effects, the number of MOVING people oin the screen when you\'re walking around.

I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait. I can\'t wait!

Yeah,

Try this!!!

At the end of the island level, when everyone is waving "Bye".
Try walking around. you can move during the "Cut-scenes"
You might even trigger something else if you go to the right "spot"

I loved the graphics in the demo. Battles are as boring as ever. They really need to do something with that IMHO.

It is included on the "Winter Jampack" Demo disk.  (Ask your local game store)

It looked great, but it was so short?  I\'ll still get it though.

Today has been gaming bliss for me.  I have played BG: DA for a few hours with my brother, Jak and Daxter for even longer, and the FFX demo (which I got in the mail today) for about a half hour.  I\'m pretty worn out. ;)

Here are my impressions of FFX:

  • The CG is better than ever.  That opening movie was great -- just barely under FF8\'s opening movie.  And the way the CG was integrated with the actual gameplay was also very well done (without any loading while switching from realtime to CG).
  • Tidus is a queer.  I\'m sorry, but I could not believe how he acted at the beginning.  I\'m sure throughout the game he will get stronger and mature a lot more, but as of right now, ugh.  Did you guys see the way he slapped at those monsters when they first landed on the road?  And how he attempted to use the sword for the first time?  Really, the only word that comes to my mind when I see that is "queer."
  • The in-game graphics were good, but not great.  After playing all the great games this fall, the graphics in FFX just didn\'t look that superior anymore.  The first area is horrible IMO with pop-in galore and a bland environment (why was the 2d bitmaps in the background popping in and out?  That was way messed up).  But that is excusable because it was probably the first area they made on the PS2.  The second part of the demo was a lot better.  It had nice textures (better than J&D\'s IMO), and moved at a better frame rate than the first area.
  • The game had slowdown and/or had choppy graphics in some areas.  It was not really serious, but it was still there.
  • The voice acting was pretty good from what I heard.
  • The Battle engine was brilliant IMO.  The characters didn\'t wait 5 seconds to do a move unlike FF8/9 where it took forever for a person to do a move even when it was their turn.  One word comes to mind when I went into battle -- FAST.  The battle loaded up fast.  The characters moved fast.  There were no lame, unnecessary pauses.  The ability to switch out your characters for a different character without any penalty is great.  The spells and summons were beautiful.  The battle engine is what I\'m looking forward to most in FFX.
  • The story seems great so far.

From the tiny portion of the game I\'ve played, this game has the potential to beat FF7 as my favorite RPG.  It does have some minor flaws, but the good easily out weighs the bad IMO.  Only a few more weeks...

When I look at FFX graphically, I compare it to FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX.  The improvement is tenfold.  Granted the graphics may not exactly be up to par with other current PS2 titles, but keep in mind that this game was completed about the time those other games were just getting started.
