To recap: I had like this flicker on my screen when on black loading screens. However its more than this. Its like a slight colour cycle like black to black green etc. It reminds me of when you set the refresh low on your monitor.

I tried an Aerial cable and the problem basically goes. This makes me feel that its the scart cable I got and not the PS2. Although Balders Gate Dark Alliance 2 demo with the controller bit on screen is very flickly normally and is still a little even with the aerial cable but this can be just due to the game itself and the fact that these things are less noticable with RF cable because its worser quality picture. Infact I originally noticed it with Silent Hill 2 and the white demo selection menu so it could be this disc. Although it is a little flicky on the Tekken character select screen.

So is this flicky thing normal. It could be my TV, PS2, Game itself. Surely a little bit of flicker is normal reguardless of the setup as some discs have static flickly screens.

Anyway Stanzo if you could check out the Baulders Gate demo with your scart cable then that would be cool. Also does your white demo screen change colour?

What about you Byatch ? You said about the white screen apparening to change colour but have you tried baulders gate.

Please let me know your results. Richard.

RichG, Yeah I have tried Baldurs Gate and the color cycling is very apparent. As I said before it is mostly noticable on dark greens and greys, like the color palette in BG:DA. In bright games like GT3 and Klonoa it isn\'t noticable at all.

It can be a pain in the arse, especially when you spend so much on a piece of equipment that has the smallest flaw, but one that can really annoy the $hit out of you. I basically had to live with it and by the time you really start to get into a game you tend to notice it alot less anyway.

One way to check if the problem stems from your PS2 or your TV is to get hold of another PS2 (rent one if you don\'t have a friend with one), and test it out on your TV. Preferably get hold of one of the new models. If the problem still occurs then it is your TV just not liking the output from a PS2 (like mine), or if it doesn\'t occur then it is something to do with your PS2. I tried sending mine back to Sony but they could not find one problem with it, well not one big enough to warrant spending time to pull it apart and test every component.

My best suggestion is to try another PS2 on your telly and see what happens.

Cheers.
