I\'ve got a question for everyone
« on: December 08, 2001, 05:04:49 PM »
What kind of tv should I get, my mom has put a limit on how much she will spend, which is like 300$

So should I get a 20" flat screen tv with component hook up or should I get a normal ol\' 27" tv with A/V hookup

well i always like quality over quantity so i would go for the flatscreen, but that is just a preference, when i look at a television screen i would much rather see less screen with better quality picture that more screen with low picture quality.

Its like that chlorox bleech commercial

" hey we have 2 litres more"
"ya but is just water"

you see? so when you want your answers, look to the bleech.:D

I ogt a nice 17" Toshiba FST Pure Colr Stream TV (the model # is 14AF41) with Hookups up the wazoo (S-video,Component (they call it ColorStream), Composite (2 inputs 1 output) and 1 F-connector (Coax cable)) at best buy for $250 about 4 months ago.  Real Nice Picture........nice and sharp.....I use the composite for my Cable (thinking about switching to S-video (have to check the back of my Digital Cable box to see if I can) and the Component for my PS2, the audio out goes to my Cambridge Soundworks Playworks DTT 2500 Digital and into my tv from the same source to hear audio from my PS2 since the Monster cables I bought are only Component Video (Y, Pa,Pr).

So both of you say the flat screen, thats what I\'ve been thinking, and my favorite resonably priced one was the Toshiba 20" flat screen, exact same thing as yours KillaX except of course a little bigger, I saw it at Best Buy for 300$, my friend works there and might get me a massive discount, and I also saw it at some internet site for like 240$, seemed super low considering that I\'ve seen it for like 270$ and above at other internet sites

So you like the Toshiba? and does the component video look a lot better than S-Video and A/V?

Go for the flatscreen definitely, and yes KillaX there are too many damn Best Buys in Ohio. It\'s practically a monopoly.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.

I have about a 24\' Samsung.

Good picture quality, horrible sound. I hook my audio cables up to my Sony CD/Tape/Radio/Mini-Disc player that cost me some serious dough and my sound is like ice.

My friend gets how much it cost the store plus 5%, which is a lot better than 15%
