OMFG (about the whole spam issue)

Geez, what the hell is wrong with this place these days?

There seems to be a lot of anger over the whole spamming thing vs. frozen post count. Here\'s my view on the matter:

The post count shouldn\'t be frozen. But I\'m sure that\'ll soon be disabled again - so no need to get all hissy on that subject, just give it a few days and things should return to normal.

Then there\'s the whole "look at me, I\'m leaving because the leaders are dumb ****s!". Well, too bad. But if you\'re really leaving because you can\'t spam / write useless replies / can\'t raise your postcount with spam then you\'re just sad. That was NEVER the intention behind this off-topic section and I never think it\'s been too much of a problem before. We\'ve had lots of fun times here even with the occasionally s p a m ... but never as much as in the past few days where people have posted with the SOLE intention of spamming.

Sure, it\'s fun for a day or two. But then it just get\'s annoying and out of hand. Come on, do you guys really feel so hurt because we won\'t have any more spam? It\'s not like you didn\'t get a chance to spam a little (or rather much as it turned out). The mods etc. accepted it knowing that it had to return to normal in a few days. No one can really be surprised by that, can they?

I thought I had fixed the problem though. People had been notified not to spam anymore (out of the exordinary like the past days). I then personally deleted all the spam threads, because that would be FAIR to all. The spammers lost the post count for the threads in which they spammed. TAADAA. Problem solved - people had had their fun and things could return to normal.

But no, a few things went wrong. mm froze the post count for off-topic (which I hope/think he\'ll undo soon). And people started leaving and whining about their frigging post count and the stop of spam. Geez guys, let it go. Things are returning to normal here now and we should all have a great and fun time like usual.

Have we not always had fun here in off-topic? Have the mods not been pretty slack about the posts in off-topic? I think so.

All in all, stop whining and let\'s all return to our usual fun. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion and I hope the controversy can end here. Thank you.

Yup your right this forum has changed for the worsed over the past couple of days....

i mean its a far cry from the goldend years when we just posted threads questioning MINE and Samwise\'s Sexuality .

well i agree it was blown out of proportion and stuff but i think its just the way it all came so suddedly

because i saw people spamming and stuff but i never saw any warngings  given to them - unless it was through pms - nothing against the mods and admins - but that just threw me off course so to speak - i think everything is cool now and i hope eventually some of the guys that left can cool it off and come back and chill with us again but i dont see it happening for now

anyway it was fun while it lasted and thats what it was meant to be

I can see why you guys don\'t like spamming but I think you went about it all wrong, you were lenient and didn\'t warn anybody, then all of a sudden you guys came running in threatening bans and *****ing about everything

Read the Thread in the main forum.. The one i made about rules etc.  That even states NO SPAM.
