Anyone know how to do rave dance moves
« on: December 14, 2001, 06:04:54 AM »
Well, my friend just came from L.A. the other day for Christmas Break.. He\'s changed into a rave dancer freako! I thought ravers were idiots before, but I guess he has now influenced me! Add that to my recent liking of trance music.... :)

So, anyone know how to do some moves or like know some sites that can help me learn when he leaves after Christmas? :)

ROFL....I can\'t stop Laughing..  Im sorry...

This is what you do...  This comming from a raver for 4 years..

Get some E..  Take that.  Then droll all over yourself.  Get a pacifer, some orange pants, and some glow stick and you are doing raver moves....

Stay away dood...  And if you do go, please please please don\'t do drugs.  They will ruin your brain and you will never be the same....

I can\'t say that I still don\'t go to raves.  Im a DJ I still produce and spin music. I love music.  Drum and Bass, hip-hop, raggae.  Its all good.  But trust me, those kids are fools, bouncing around..

If you wanna learn how to dance thats another thing, but learning rave moves, please god help us..

Look up information on b-boys, break dancing, brooklyn.  Those are all style / type of dancing.

When I went to parties in the past with all my friends we would form huge dance circles where we would dance against each other.  Thats all we did, and it was a lot of fun.

Break dancing and circle competitions is a long way from bouncing around to trance music, but you gotta start somewhere I suppose.

1. get ride from mom in minivan to firehall and have her drop you off down street so chicks dont see you in mom\'s minivan
2. sneak outside and take X [which is caffiene pill yer friend sold you for 30$]
3. go back inside and listen to crappy electronica music
4. watch people make fools of themselves
5. drink "10$ smart drink" [nothing more than seltzer and kool-aid]
6. wait down street afterwards so chicks dont see you getting back into mom\'s minivan

rave\'s = suck

unfortunately, im old enough to remember what raves REALLY were,  back before they were frickin sponsered and being held in halls, and venues.  when people starting bringing pacifiers and pinning stuffed animals to thier clothes, i KNEW it was time to leave.

I just think that the rave thing is pretty cool.. The lights you know.. I\'m not sure what you guys are talking about when it comes to pacifier and drool.. I just wanna be able to do those spinning things around..

Im a raver and thus take offense at the aformentioned comments.

For starters raves aren\'t about drugs or dance moves there about the music.

You do whatever you feel you need to do when you hear the music. Some people take drugs to help them open up their minds and feel the music but that can be done anyway without drugs - which I don\'t take btw.

Leave the "moves" for the nightclub where you might want to impress someone. At a rave everyone will be off their heads enjoying the music too much with another 1000 or so ravers to be bothered about someone doing dance moves. So try a nightclub for that. :hat:

I\'m afraid I gotta agree with Rich here, raves aren\'t just about buying stupid stuff, and looking dumb.  When I goto raves, I wear a shirt, jeans, and bring a waterbottle.  That\'s it.

You just move from room to room, checkin\' out the music, djs, and people.  Usually I go with friends, and it\'s a great place to spend the night dancing, talkin\' and doing whatever.  Just leave your worries and problems behind for a night (and no, that doesn\'t require use of drugs, though I have tried the non hallucigens).

Im with him for 100%

I know the rave scene in america has a pretty bad name for its candy ravers. The european scene is very different, especially here in holland. Its not about the drugs for me but about the music.

and for rave moves? You mean Stringing with glowsticks? I personally think it looks cool but still is kinda lame.

i agree, the raves [disco\'s] in europe were FAR different when i went to a few in germany and france

the disco\'s in Frankfurt were about music, NOTHING more

popular culture has killed the rave scene.  corporate sponsers seek out rave organizers and fund locations so they can advertise thier product.  its sickening.  they take place to make money

raves originated as illegal activities.  taking place in obscure tresspassed places.  the info was spread by word of mouth, and a fee usually wasnt collected, as it wasnt like the DJ\'s were renting the place where we had them.

oh well, just a rant from an aging ex-raver

mm you havent seen a thing. What about a 90.000 people rave with 50+ great international DJs. Thats the stuff we have here in holland. Im not even mentioning the german love parade, which attracts around 1 million people

I think that http://www.spaceraverz.com/ has some movie sof raver moves
