~Madden Test 2~
« on: December 14, 2001, 03:37:21 PM »
It\'s Friday, and now we\'re (Me and Sweet Tooth, so far :laughing:) to Madden Test 2. Sweet Tooth gave me a great idea for a future one that I\'m sure will be pretty tuff.

Here\'s this weeks:

YOU

at

 FRANKFURT GALAXY

DIFFICULTY: ALL MADDEN

QUARTER LENGTH: 7 MINUTES

FOG AT MID-LEVEL

PRECIPITATION AT HIGHEST LEVEL

WIND AT HIGHEST LEVEL

TIME: NIGHT

-----------------------

Same rules apply, be honest, use default rosters, play only once, no constant re-trying just cuz\' your playing bad.

Record Your teams stats: Passing, Rushing (TOP 3 RUSHERS, Recieving (TOP 3 RECIEVERS), Defensive (TOP 5 DEFENSIVE PLAYERS), Special Teams (Kicking, Kick returning, Punting, Punt Returning)

Are you sure you want it on All Madden? I thought it was supposed to be easy and then get harder by each test? I\'m just saying, going from Pro to All Madden is killer

Finshed :yawn:

Score: 49ers (Me) = 45 to the Galaxy(Them) = 24

My Team Stats:

Total Offense= 362 Yards
Rushing Yards= 178
Passing Yards= 184
First Downs = 16
Punt Return Yards= 26
Kick Return Yards= 70
Total Yards = 458
Giveaways= 1
Takeaways = 4
3rd. Down Conversion % = 46
4th Down Conversion % = 50
Penalties= 7
Penalty Yards = 134
Possession Time = 16:59

Passing Leader: Jeff Garcia

Rating = 131.6
Yards = 212
TD= 5
Interceptions = 0
Completions = 11
Attempts = 20
Comletion % = 55
Avg. Pass Yard per Pass= 10.5
Times Sacked= 7
Longest Pass= 43 Yards

Rushing Leaders:

Jeff Garcia= 99 Yards rushing, 13 Attempts, 7.6 Average per rush, 2 Fumbles, Longest run 14 Yards

Garrison Hearst=  80 Yards rushing, 26 Attempts, 3 Average per rush, 1 Fumble, Longest Run 19 Yards

Receiving Leaders:

Terrell Owens= 5 Catches, 89 Yards, 17.7 Average, 3 TD, Longest Catch 43 Yards

Greg Clark = 3 Catches, 56 Yards, 18.6 Average, 1 TD, Longest Catch 24 Yards

J.J. Stokes = 2 Catches, 50 Yards, 25 Average, 1 TD, Longest Catch 32 Yards

Defensive Leaders:

Ahmed Plummer: 5 Tackles, 1 Tackle for loss, 1 INT

Lance Schulters: 4 Tackles, 1 INT (24 INT Yards)

Dana Stubblefield: 2 Tackles, 1 Tackle for loss, 1 Sack, 1 Fumble Recovered

Julian Peterson: 4 Tackles, 1 Tackle for loss

Anthony Parker: 5 Tackles

Special Teams:

Jamie Rheem (KICKER): 1 for 2

Notes: All Madden didn\'t really matter as much as I feared it would. The Frankfurt Galaxy suck. Notice Jeff Garcia\'s rushing yards. There were so many times I was able to bring the ball down and run for a big gain it was funny.  It\'s hard to throw though. My recievers were glued. And running, although Garrison got 80, was because he had like 3 big gains, and the rest were just 1, and 2 yard pick ups.

Overall it wasn\'t very hard, they don\'t have much of a rushing game, but they go deep alot.

Also they turned the ball over a surprising amount of times for it being on All Madden. Remember to strip the ball using R2, it really works like a charm.

GRADE: A

This is embarrising. But I\'m going to post my score

(me) Rams = 23, Galaxy = 76

BUT I must note that I outscored them 13 to 6 in the fourth quarter. So maybe If I do it again I might beat them

Rushing - Faulk 56 yds 3.1 ave
Reciebing - Faulk 165 yds, 23.5 ave
Holt 104 yds, 52 ave

Tackles- Fields 10, 2 sacks

I really hate how when I pass the ball their defenders always seem to swat the ball away, but when the computer passes, his recievers always catch it even If I have 3 defenders around him. How am I supposed to catch the ball?

What moves do you guys use when running. I mostly juke but is pushing circle any good? It doesnt work for me often

When running I go through the blockers holes, using only the d-pad. Once I pass the line of scrimmage I begin to sprint (Hold down the X button), if a defender is near I juke a bit, but there\'s not much to it but finding the holes to run through.

Why wasn\'t it that hard for me? I only fumbled the ball once or twice I think. Maybe I just got lucky.

I\'ll try running like that. I use boost all the time so maybe if I use it when I need it, it will work better

Also to break tackles, maybe this doesn\'t really work, but it\'s a habit I have and I think it works...

Keep tapping X fast as hell if you wanna break tackles, and then just hold it down if your running in the open field.

I tried that challenge again. I did better this time. I was only losing by 1 point at half time

38 - Galaxy, 23 Rams

Went down to the wire.

What a frustrating game.  My recievers could not caatch a pass if their lives were on the line.  It seemed at times that my linebackers were from the we dont want to takle club.  Their running backs often ran through five of my guys and went almost to the house.

I cant intercept still and have trouble holding on to the ball (recieving).  Any tips?  Even when it is not raining and indoors this is still a problem for me.

The game started off in a hiss and a roar with Mr. Woodson intercepting a pass and taking it to the house but it went down hill from their untill the fourth quarter where I started finding the open man and finally my recievers started holden on to the ball.  I swear! 90 % of my incompletions were dropped balls and many were in complete space or in the enzone.  I finally nailed the game winning 32 yard field goal in the last 3 seconds to cap of a 17-0 comeback in the fourth quarter.

Well here it is:

Raiders 30. Galaxy 27

My Team Stats:

Total Offense= 222 Yards
Rushing Yards= 108
Passing Yards= 214
First Downs = 12
Punt Return Yards= 10
Kick Return Yards= 130
Total Yards = 446
Giveaways= 3
Takeaways = 3
3rd. Down Conversion % = 36
4th Down Conversion % = 80
Penalties= 4
Penalty Yards = 40
Possession Time = 14:38

Passing: Rich Gannon

Rating = 78
Yards = 214
TD= 2
Interceptions = 1
Completions = 16
Attempts = 35
Comletion % = 45.7
Avg. Pass Yard per Pass= 13.4
Times Sacked= 3
Longest Pass= 67 Yards

Rushing Leaders:

Rich Gannon = 34 Yards rushing, 6 Attempts, 5.6 Average per rush, 2Fumbles, Longest run 10 Yards

Charlie Garner = 74 Yards rushing, 18 Attempts, 4.1 Average per rush, 1 Fumble, Longest Run 17 Yards

Receiving Leaders:

Tim Brown = 6 Catches, 92 Yards, 23.3 Average, , Longest Catch 43 Yards

Jerry Rice = 8 Catches, 87 Yards, 10.9 Average, 1 TD, Longest Catch 19 Yards

Roland Williams = 2 Catches, 35 Yards, 17.5 Average, 1 TD, Longest Catch 32 Yards

Defensive Leaders:

Charles Woodson 8 Tackles, 1 Tackle for loss, 1 INT 87 INT yards

Anthony Dorsett: 6 Tackles, 1 INT

Greg Biekert: 8 Tackles, 3 Tackles for loss, 2 Sacks, 1 Fumble Recovered

Lincoln Kennedy: 4 Tackles, 1 Tackle for loss, 1 force fumble

Darrell Russell: 5 Tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

Special Teams:

Sebastian Janikowski: (KICKER): 3 for 5

Overall grade:

Id give it a D but I won so i guess i would have to give it a C

I think what team you use should affect your grade as well.

I mean, there\'s a big difference from using the Niners, and the Ravens.

Perhaps I should get a bonus for using a team with < 80 overall? ;)

Or how about when you choose the test, give us a maximum overall grade we can use. Like no team over 85 or something like that
