Playstation 2?

Shortly after Christmas, I will seriously be considering buying a PS2, need a few pointers, etc:

Are they any good?
Are the Games any good?

Also any problems people may have had with them

The PS2 is ****ing great!, the games that have come out over the last couple of months and the games that are still to be released in the coming months look awseome (sp). Some early models of ps2 had problems reading some disks but that should be all fixed up in the new models so you will be fine. I HIGHLY recomend you get a PS2 ASAP . Your social life will never be the same again

Grand Theft Auto 3
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3
Smackdown Just Bring It ( Only If your a big wrestlng fan )
Timesplitters 2 ( when its out )
Head Hunter
Pro Evo Soccer
Devil May Cry

I may have forgot some but there a good start

Ps2 is definately a good buy you wont regret. All games lean has mentioned are great cept a few IMO, but dont let that cloud your thoughts.
Dont forget to buy a memory card.

Lean and mean summed it up nicely.

I think Tekken Tag, Resident Evil: CV and Silent Hill 2 are worth adding in the list though.

I havent played any of the others, so I cant judge. I want to play Timesplitters 2 tho... Hows the first one?

As for the games Id add to the list... they\'d be:

Smugglers Run 2
Madden 2002
TM: B
Ace Combat 4
and SSX(havent played tricky yet)

Don´t forget Baldurs Gare Dark Alliance.

but SSX Tricky, NBA Street, Grand Theft Auto, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid 2, Gran Turismo 3, Ico, Jak and Daxter are all good buys

When people are getting a PS2, I recommend Metal Gear Solid 2 and Grand Theft Auto 3.  SSX Tricky is great, too.  

And I always thought Dynasty Warriors was cool.  That was a launch title...

1) GTA3
2)tony hawk 3
3)MGS2
4)Jack n Dexter
5)SSX tricky

Just go for it, its well worth the 3 hundred bones ur gonna spend.
