My PS2 Problem Update Thread, Baytch and Co.

Got the replacement PS2 and the problem is even worse. The flicker or shall I say contrast pulse is constant and is even noticable in games such as GTA 3.

So good bye well kept PS2, hello second hand case PS2 with worse problem.

Did some major testing...

Cable: Tried many cables all flickered. Then tried my Ps1 on the cable I mainly used and no flicker. This prooves it aint he cable.

TV: Tried PS2 on parents TV no flicker. It still is PS2 however because I tried my mates Ps2 with same setup on my TV and it worked fine. I then tried my PS1 and again no flicker.

Ps2: Yep new PS2 problem is even worse.

So could it be related to 30003 models ? I\'ve ordered yet another swap out for Wednesday the Sony guy says this shouldn\'t be happening.

If by Wednesday this new PS2 is still fecked ill sell this PS2 and get a new one I think.

Byatch: You said you had this problem, is your console a 30003 model by any chance (check back of PS2).

I got mine from a catalogue so no swappy swappy for me.

Still it isn\'t too bad. Well it is if I don\'t get a right console but at the worst ill sell it and get a new one, but hopefully I will get a working console. Still feck off anonying.

So, Dec.26 would probably be the best day to do this, seeing as there will be tons of returns and they\'ll want to get you out ASAP.  Just make sure you know their return policy(whether they need recipts)  I know Target now requires them so don\'t go there.

No where in the UK does that sort of thing.

Im getting the replacement PS2 today, its 11am and the delevery guy hasn\'t shown up yet but thats OK because he took longer than that on Monday.

I\'ve got the 30004 model here in the Netherlands. It has a
slight pulse effect in Onimusha but nothing serious...
Were the 30003 versions earlier than the 30004 or not ?
maybe you should specifically ask for a 30004 when replacing.

If you bought it from Curry\'s, you can get a straight swap for a new one if it is under the 12 months guarantee.

Ok was waiting in for a replacement for the one on monday today. It didn\'t show. Rang sony twice and now im scheduled for 27th of december which is after christmas. I wouldn\'t mind as I can play my games on the pulsing PS2 but I CAN\'T. Its scratching my CDs. Noticed a circular mark on my GTA 3 disc. Very slight and I look after my cds which is anonying too.
