This is a load of crap, already going to destroy all the MP3 devices out there as well...

There will be a hack out soon enough so nothing big to worry about, just kind of aggrevating.

These copy protection schemes will only work to discourage the casual music pirates.  Technophiles and hackers will always come up with the software tools to defeat it.

It\'s funny that the record labels are willing to spend heaps of cash on implementing copy protection, replacing returned CDs, and managing the inevitable PR disasters this will spawn...  but it hasn\'t crossed their minds of maybe lower their prices instead.  Hum.

that article gets my goat mainly b/c I have a feeling it will cause more problems than it solves. I also believe it will jack up the cost of cd\'s even more.

They will only release 1 CD like that.  If it has trouble playing in CD players no one will buy it.  That\'s such a moronic idea that it only goes to prove you should never underestimate the power of a dumbass.

That is such crap. I don\'t know why someone would wanna do that. You can\'t buy personal custom mixes in the stores to suit your tastes exactly, or for popping in a CD for a certain mood your in.

This is utter crap and they just don\'t get it. There will always be a way around it though (hopefully). Music is life, and *insert something witty here*...

or maybe it will last but if anything this will just make people find another way to do it - that or they will be pissed off at the record company - hell i just cant get over the stupidness of this - so what happens when you buy a cd and it wont play in your cd player - they arent gonna let you return im sure

they just want to screw us all over

I didn\'t read the article, however at one time Macromedia - makers of DVD copy right protection, also made a copy protection for cd\'s and ways around it was found as soon as the specs of it was announced, so the same will happen to this.

This is so stupid because all it will do is cost the companies money and make consumers angry at them. Before you know it mp3 enthusiasts and "l337 h4x0rz" will have found a crack to get around it. Probably before its even released.
As long as there are people and computers, no form of copyright protection will truly stop piracy.
A good hacker can always find a way around something. Although this isn\'s always a good thing (cheating in online games, getting your computer hacked, ect).

Human beings are very reluctant to give up rights and freedoms, and this just ain\'t gonna work.

They say blank CD\'s outsell prerecorded CD\'s like it\'s proof of everyone copying CD\'s. Lol, I guess none of those blank CD\'s are used for computer data instead of just music? :)
