Never leave the disk in the tray when you turn off the PS2. When the PS2 powers up, the laser read head moves into the space where the disk sits, and if there\'s a disk there, it could create a scratch. I heard this explanation from someone else on this forum and it makes sense to me. I got a scratch on one of my disks, and my PS2 is always kept very stationary, so this is really the only explanation for my situation.
