Most memorable gaming event of 2001?

What was the one moment that just blew your mind?  It can be good or bad.  Mine was when sega announced they were going 3rd party I couldn\'t believe I thought it was a hoax or something.  So what was your most memorable moment of this year?:thepimp:

Ohhhhhhh......yes.  Another memerable moment the first time I played the mgs2 demo..........unbelieveable.  Buying gt3 and playing that for the first time.

Memorable or important? If you want the most important event of 2001, that would go to Sega going third party.

If you want memorable..

  • The new Zelda look. Something that was truly shocking to everyone. I am personaly all for the new look though.
  • BioHazard / Resident Evil series going to the GameCube.
  • Pikimin! I\'m sorry, but this game is just awesome and I pray it becomes a new franchise.
  • Devil May Cry. The birth of a new Capcom franchise.

Mine is the day I bought MGS2. Oh, what a day that was. Little homework and the rest of the night gaming. I will never forget the smile on my face that day.

In my opinion nothing has "blown my mind".

I would have to say that Sega going to 3rd party and the death of the DC was most memorable this year.
