It will be PS2 in the lead still, obviously. XBox will follow closely in weekly console sales, but PS2 will still have more on the charts because of the larger installed base. Gamecube will be third. Not a distant third, but enough behind to matter. Gamecube will be on it\'s way to becoming N64-2. Not many titles, but about every other title is a big one.

GBA will still be tearing up the charts. Sony\'s announced handheld will launch soon, it will be backlit, 6 buttoned, and will kickass.

I think the same thing, nintendo with their quality over quantity matter again. It doesn\'t work.

I follow einsteins theory "The more people there are, the more chance there is of being a genius" I think the same thing applies for games, which we have seen with the PSX vs N64 debate

"game cube will be distant because of the kiddie thing again"

The \'kiddie\' market is quite large, unless you hadn\'t realised

If it wasn\'t nintendo wouldn\'t target it.

Gamecube may not be first or second, but the \'kiddie\' market will ensure that it isn\'t a distant third.

1. Yes I agree.. Im sorry to say it looks like GC will be N64-2.. But it isnt to late to change it.. Nintendo...

2. I hope they will.. GBA need competition.. Think about it.. Minidisc based handhelled.. 650MB(?) data.. *drool* ;)

From the looks of it gamecube is looking like n64-2 which is a very bad sign for me.  Cause as you can tell I\'m not to crazy about the n64.(which is an understantment)

I think xbox will be behind ps2 in sales unless their online plan sees fruition and they offer some compelling software.  I don\'t think they will ever pass PS2 in total sales, but by the end of its life, I think it will surpass the PS2 in monthly or yearly sales--but I don\'t think it will ever be by a significant margin.

A game like Worlds of Warcraft or some other MMG could really change things for the xbox.

Sega could also shift some power to the xbox.  Since they are designing their next arcade board around the xbox system, it is reasonable to suggest Sega games of the future will be xbox first, GC and PS2 second.  It is my opinion that Sega makes the best games, the most diverse games and the most innovative games.  Having Sega is a big coo for MS.

GC will enjoy moderately more success than the N64, but their content isn\'t broad enough to appeal to the majority of older gamers.

I don\'t think Nintendo wants to follow the "Quality over Quantity" mentality again. I think they might have to regardless of that.

As far as the Quality over Quantity thing, they seem to think its a trade off when its not. Like most things in life, there is a happy medium, a balance, and I feel that is where the PS2 is. We\'ve got Quality AND Quantity.

As far as the Xbox goes, I dunno. I only own PS2 right now, but thats going to change probably come February, because Blood Omen 2 is coming out for both platforms!! That means almost ceratainly that the PS2 version wont be as good! JUST LIKE MAX PAYNE. It really upsets me that they didn\'t keep it a PlayStation exclusive series! The problem is, Nintendo cannot achieve quantity. The vast majority of their support comes from in-house and second party developers; there is simply not enough there to produce hordes of games, as we see on PS2 and Xbox. The developers in point, however, put enough effort into their games to where they are brilliant. They almost need to; with the lack of quantity, there would be no other reason to get the system if the games weren\'t superb. Nintendo can\'t get the quantity, but they at least provide the quality. They\'d be screwed if they didn\'t.

I\'m personally more than happy with the quality over quanity tactic Nintendo always takes. It assures me the buyer, that I won\'t be wasting a lot of time goin\' through crap games. Instead, I wait awhile longer and get excellent games. That works just fine for me, as I think the market place is already flooded with crap titles.

As for Sony releasing a handheld and it kicking the GBA\'s ass. I don\'t see that happening. Sony would have to play mass catch up in a market place Nintendo has always dominated. It won\'t happen this generation of handhelds.

But that is more than likely what they are shooting for.... To try and dominate..... And slowly win over Nintendoer\'s... Just like what Xbox is doing currently..
.... take the skin and peel and back...

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

Yeah but ps2 and xbox is going to have a constant flow of games while nintendo suffers from those famous droughts there know for.  That "quality over quanity" is a bunch of crap to me.  Its just an excuse for them being slow with coming out with games.
