Guys, I have a big problem at hand.  Let me explain the story (It is lengthy so please bare with me):

A friend and I played Project Eden on the Friday night.  So that was the last time a moved my memory card to another persons PS2.  The next morning (Saturday) I wanted to play some GT3.  The language choice showed up on screen, realising that something was worng as GT3 normally loads automatically.  I went into my browser to find the GT3 icon to appear as a blue block.  I deleted this block as it was corrupted (realising that I practically lost everything that I have done).

Luckily for me, I have copied all my games onto that same friends memory card and therefore could copy it back onto mine.  I copied it and slotted it back into my machine.  When loading it gave me the same language choice, meaning it did not load again....even after I just copied it from my friends memory card.  (By the way, we tested it on his PS2 and it worked).

When going into my browser I discovered that the icon went to a blue block again and being corrupted yet again.  When trying to delete it it gives me a "delete failed" error.  When trying to copy my friends GT3 onto my memory card again it says "copy failed", and when trying to save GT3 as new from the disk it says "save failed".  

What do I do?  It is a waste of money to buy another memory card but what do I do if it does not want to delete the corrupted file?

Any help, ideas or suggestions will be great.

I believe that I know your problem cause I have it. Well it seems that one part of your Memory card is corrupted... so the data that you save over there is also corrupted and won\'t work in loading options. My advice is that you try to copy there any data game you don\'t wanna play anymore and don\'t erase the file.

This way, that corrupted zone will be ocupated and no other data will be written in that zone. At least I think this can help you.

I also have a small blue box in my Memory Card that shows: Corrupted Files (4 Kb), so I decided no erase it cause it would be a "bad" zone of Memory card.

Sorry Adan, but that´s not the best way...
Copy all "good" files from the corrupt MC to another (or erase them). Unplug your MC... then replug it...
You now have a clean and fresh MC... copy everything back and it should work !

Thanks a million for the advice, i\'ll definitly try it.  However, "The EYE", this corrupted file does not allow me to delete it.  It has a "?" where the size should be displayed.  I will try what you have said though...as you guys really come up with some good solutions.

Thanks big time, i\'ll let you know tomorrow if it worked.

Yes, I know that isn\'t the best way, but I tried to find a solution without buy another Memory card or find another one. And this mate says that has problems erasing the corrupted files... obviously, if the area is bad, you will find problems when you wanna erase or write...

I recently found a blue block(39kb) on my card and have no idea what it is, all of my saves are still there.

Blue blocks of 39 KB in size are most likely the photos you took with digital camera in MGS2.

Well if it is anything like the problem with my first PS2 mem card way back in Nov. of 2000, then there is nothing you can do.  I only had two game saves on the card (tekken tag and Ssx) when for no apparent reason both saves turned into currupted boxes and suddenly I only had 3,000k (3 meg) left on the card, yet nothing could be deleted or saved.  (funny though that the saves totaled like 500 k before it happened).  

I couldn\'t get it fixed and I called Sony Tech support and everything.  They just told me a bs statement to return it to them and ****,  I just bought another one at the store and even exchanged the bad one back for another new one the next day.  I have two cards now, but I guess it was worth it to get them both working and my saves all sorted out.

And that MGS2 photo thing is correct,  I wish Kornami would have said something about that in the manual.  You have no idea how many people bring their memory cards back to me complaining of that problem.

Hi guys

Videoman is correct.  Nothing works...will have to buy another memory card for no reason.:(

Anyway, at least it has not done it to any other game yet.:D

I tried it the second time and it worked.  Thanks a million for the advice.  The bit of data that is currupt is only 184KB wich is nothing much.

I am off now to play GT3 again. Cheers........

same thing happend to meory card sort of, i was playing silent scope ( rented) i completed it again!!! saved, went to loasd it the next morning, it would , whole card was messed up!!!


my advice take it back to the store you got it from, and get a new one, thats what i did


have you tried the gt3 data on your mates memory card ( i mean his memory card) on your com, or even played gt3 on his and try yours and his on his ps2??!!!
