So there\'s this rumor...

That Sony has purchased the 4 year console rights to Grand Theft Auto. Kinda like they did for Tomb Raider before.

The game is still coming to PC, I guess.  I didn\'t made this up. It supposedly originates from the Japanese PS2 developer that has contacts in the industry.

I doubt it. Sony never bought the rights to, nor contracted a deal for Tomb Raider from Eidos. TR1 was on the Saturn and a seperate Tomb Raider game was on the GBC.

My money is on Rumor.

Sorry, I added the TR part as that was how I remembered, being obviously ignorant. It was not the part of the original rumor (and I repeat - RUMOR) Btw, GBC does not constitute a console port and DC version came out much later (it was TR4 if I remember - TR2 & 3 were PS only if I\'m not mistaken again)

well, right now, Rockstars site only says GC and GBA, no XBox, although a press release from last year announced they were working on that and other titles for the big X.

Just as with PC, GBA does not constitute as a console (It\'s a handheld).

As far as I can see, Rockstar site mentions only PS2 and PC versions.

Good because maybe Xbox can tweak it a small amount for some effects,  plus I don\'t want to see GTAVII on the PS3.:laughing:

It might be true.. Or it might not..
We must wait and see..

GTA3 has sold over 1.4million in the states alone..
Those 1.4million+ on PS2 plus a nice little moneyhat might have changed Rockstars mind? (We all know GTA3 will not sell as good on Xbox as it has on PS2... Keyword: Userbase)

We will know in a few days I guess.. :)

Because the userbase is what - 1.5 million if it\'s to trust microsoft? It would never sell more than 300-400000 copies
Worldwide sales for GTA3 are 3 million so far, I think.

Cuz. Xbox userbase is something like 1.5million right?
PS2 userbase is 8million..

GTA3 sold 1.4million in the US of A.. Thats 17.5% of all US PS2 owners.. Not everyone is interested in games like GTA3..
Now if GTA3 was going to be released for Xbox it would maybe sell 500 000-600 000..

It all comes down to the userbase ...
