Should I get a PS2 now?

Hi all, as you can see I\'m a new member of this message board.
I was thinking of buying a PS2 from the UK, since I got bored of my Dreamcast.

1) I didn\'t know there were differences in the consoles between america and Europe, but I read some posts and I\'m worried that the differences are more than just incompatibility of games.

2) I will be taking the PS2 with me in Greece (i\'m greek) so I was wondering if the UK has any difference to the EU console....?

3) Since the computer monitor looks far superior to the TV set, I was wondering how I can hook up the PS2 on the monitor. Its an EIZO 17inch monitor, and I can also connect the PS2 to the Creative Speakers and have surround sound... That\'ll be cool.

The only thing that worries me is HOW I connect it to the monitor? Do I need a seperate cable, and if so, where can I find it online?
