My brother completed a game called Twin Turbo V8 on the Amstrad CPC 464 and all it said was "Congratulations" in a plain, horrid looking text.
Although a more modern example of bad endings would be Silent Hill 1 bad ending where you just see the bloke dead in his car although that was probably meant to be, bad example, erm Midnight Club Street Racing ending was fairly turd too.
thats only one of he endings though, i always just thought that it that he thought it was just a dream, then he wakes up!!!! cos that is what happens at the beginning with the same cv footage(maybe i could be wrong on what i think, as its been ages since i played it, and the more i think about it, the more i think you are right)

die hard one, you just see your man walking out of the tower, no explosion, about 10 sec long if tht
die harder. cant remerber properly, but think its just a plane landing, not exploding,as youve saved them
die hard with a vengace. boat blows up
