Buying my PS2 on Saturday, after the 90 days id get another year for $29, so basically 15 mo\'s for $29..any of you think the its worth it, i know as more systems are produced reliability is SUPPOSED to get better and consumer reports tells you not to waste the $$$, but ive always been a ext.  warranty fanatic and im trying to break this habit.

Sony treated me ****. So I wouldn\'t get the warrentee. Although im from Europe so you get a years warrentee with the machine anyway.

The machine comes with a year warrenty anyway and i got a extended warrenty for extra year through kmart(wallmart was out okay ;)  ) and it was only 19.99.  Now i dont know what they do,  send it back to sony on there dime and have it fixed or replace it and send the busted unit for refurbishing. Either way i think it should be worth it.  The way i looked at it im allready spending $300 plus tax might as well get the 2nd year for 20 bucks and i know i can put enough pressure on the zit faced kid at the electronics counter at kmart to get results :Þ

I got the extended warranty and I am glad that I did cause I had to send my PS2 in for teh second time.... If you have the money to spare you should probably go for it, if you\'re really low on cash maybe not.

yes you get 90day SONYs warranty, but what you forget is that you have to pay for shipping which would run you between $50-$80. plus they send you the same system you sent them. they will try and fix it, if they are successful, then they\'ll send back your system, if not, you get a new one. and they ONLY cover manufacture defects..not defects caused by humans.

best bet is go to EB and get their 1 year or 2 year warranty.

1 year is $30 and 2 year is $50 for either the PS2 or XBOX
1 year is $20 and 2 year is $34 for the GC
1 year is $10 and 2 year is $17 for the GBA, GBC, PSOne, or anything under $99.99
you also got the accessories warranty but its up to you.

EBs warranty covers ANYTHING that would happen to it..even if you put a shotgun hole into it, they\'ll give you a new one.
