Best connection for DVD playback??
« on: January 25, 2002, 10:40:45 PM »
Hello all, I was wondering what the best connection to the TV set is for the best possible DVD playback.

Scart (not the "fake" one that they ship with) cable, SVHS, which one? I\'ve also heard about the "green screen"..

What exactly is this, how is it caused and how can I make it dissapear?? I have a PAL PS2

thanx for your replies!

well i have got a scart lead it gives the best pic for games, but when you try to watch a dvd the screen is all green, but if you buy a dvd region x ( £15-20) it gets rid of it, it also allows you to watch any regions dvd.

Yeah its true RGB scart is the way to go. The best connection. Get yourself DVD region X, and do the PS2 and DVD justice for there superior quality. After you have been using it for a while and then see the same game/DVD with a composite connection it just looks crap.

Can anyone recommend a good cable to buy? (manufacturer & model please)

I presume the one that comes with the PS2 is pretty crap but seem to be a few different ones around, some £40!

are the Blaze Ultimate cables any good?

or are the more expensive official Sony ones a good buy?

Have all the hook ups on my TV (scart, S video etc) just wondered if a better cable would improve things a bit (not that its that bad)
