WHO cares i meanthe PS3 won\'t be out till late 2005- 2006 anyway.

i mean if you ask me it will be 2007 till we see the Working version of the PS3 anyways.

but what i do say is that itis KICK @ss that the PS3 will be PS2 backward compatable

i wonder if we can play our PSx games on it too .

Just going by memory, sorry no link. The plan for the Cell, when the joint venture between IBM Toshiba and Sony was originally announced, was that it be made available and installed in applications other than PS3 a year prior to the consoles projected release date (2006). The object being to bring the costs to manufacture down so their next console launch wouldn\'t entail so much of a financial burden as the PS2 did. In other words, not because they need the extra year or so to get their console act together once the CPU is already in production.

Four years isn\'t that far off. Do you suppose in two years MS will leap ahead and start picking more parts off the shelf to modify? j/k

The PS3 won\'t be out for at least 2006--there is marketing, dev kits to be shipped, games to be made, console to be constructed, etc.  Sure some of this will go on as the processor is being built, but there is no way the processor can be finalized and the console released in the same year.  Testing alone will take that long.

I pointed it out because you disputed it and responded like an ass.  You made it a point to argue about it earlier, now that your opinion is clearly in the minority, you see it as a silly argument.  Typical I suppose.

Also, I son\'t think they can friggin\' be absolutely sure what the next "PlayStation"...if it\'ll even have the same name again...power will be. It\'s still a few years away. Sheesh. They could surprise themselves or something. I heard it was going to be way more powerful, but that\'s just me.

Your the one that got your panties bunched up and proceeded in making it an argument. And it is silly, I simply said I might be able to afford this thing in 2005.

It\'s not my attempt to look mature, it\'s my attempt to point out (and I wasn\'t the only one who thought this in this thread) that you are an ass.  This is a discussion board, people routinely place opinionated posts here.

This was a post about P3 specs.  People were expecting a new console to correspond with the chip completion date.

Since this is a discussion, I added that it is unrealistic to expect the console during the same year the chip finishes construction.

You being "the ass"  chimed in with, "Mmmmmhmmmmmmm, and once you have a processor a console isn\'t too far behind. I often wonder sometimes why people even say things like that."  Now it is your perrogative to disagree, I have no problem with that, but it\'s the manner in which you did it, your tone and implications that I objected to.  I was not the one to bring this thread down, it was you.  Ass.

No you didn\'t mention when the console would ship, but clearly you were disputing my remark and implying that the console would indeed ship before I thought--all the while being a complete jackass.

You come back and dispute ever having an interest in this thread.  Tell everyone that you are far above any of this and "claim" intellectuality and maturity.

These are the facts.

If we need any more evidence one only needs to look at your avatar to get a very clear indication of your maturity and mentality.  You are a little little boy, with a proportionately sized mind.

I have noticed lately, much of the time you (Watchdog) can act like a decent, normal, human being. You might want to lighten up and think about cutting the ass parade short next time the erg arises. Either that or start breaking the prozacs in half.

Like I said I don\'t mind when people disagree with me or point out that I am flat out wrong--that has happened many times since I joined.  I took offence to the manner in which he responded, his attitude and tone.  That\'s it.

I\'m a reasonable person, but as I said in a different post, I have little patience for that kind of crap.  In Dajo\'s own sig he says "You don\'t have to RESPECT me, but don\'t ever DISRESPECT me."  Perhaps he should read his own sig.

If I am wrong, then I\'m wrong and I\'m a big enough person to admit that--I\'ve done it before.  But he responded like an ass, and I was kind enough to point that out.
