WRC Sound track names???
« on: January 30, 2002, 05:59:46 PM »
hello all, I have the PS2 demo of WRC.... When I finish a stage, there is a song during the replay....
it goes like.....
"gotta hold in my hand
& its making me sad
gotta hold on the whole world\'s looking at
gotta hold in my hand
& its making me sad
gotta hold on the whole world\'s crushin in

bla bla bla

take another smoke,
i thought u\'ve said you\'ve given up
until your mother knew....."

and bla bla I don\'t remember the rest..

Does anyone know the name of this song and the band?
thanx everybody!!

That would make sense cos, if you hmmm the first bit ...

"Got a hole in my head..."

It\'s a bit like that Feeder tune off GT3, you know the one, that fantastic one they use on the intro...

"All by myself...but I dont wanna drag you down..."

Basically I wanna know something, which is my point of this post :) Is all the music on WRC as good as the tunes on the PlayStation2 demo? And also, is the wrc game really good? Cos I\'m so tempted to buy it, but what with Herdy Gerdy and MGS2 just round the corner, and the GetAway, me is a bit unsure ;)

WRC is ok, biggest problem is its too easy to win, (even on hardest setting)  so there is no real challenge, what I miss is having to really push for the top spot with a just a few seconds in it.

All the music is excellent, yes as good as the demo but only 7 tracks, Garbage, New Order, Soul Wax etc.

I got bored of it pretty quickly, nice graphics, great looking cars, replays are great, good camera angles etc but really didnt have any long term appeal.
Personally i would wait for CM3, though would be worth picking it up second hand.

fugue, thanx for the info man, I was really into this song and I would kill to find out its name!! :)

SirKevy, I\'m the MAN when it comes to Rally games and stuff, and i can tell you somethings about the game, which I eventually got today and I\'ve been playing it for the last hours....

Well, first of all the grafix are great. The camera tha shows the whole car (the one outside that is) is really crap for me, because the handling is VERY difficult. If you get used to it you will do fine.

But I\'ve done some racing driving lessons with real rally cars (not WRC cars, Group N cars if you know about this category) and when you use the in car camera (and especially the one that you can not even see the bonet) the game is the CLOSEST THING to reality ever!!

The handling is EXCELLENT (difficult, but its a simulation of the real thing), and the nice grafix make it feel like reality..

However, the bad thing is that you don\'t really understand the difference between 100KM and 170Km/hour...
If it was a bit faster at the higher speeds we would be talking about the ultimate driving experience..

Also, what I like to do is to play each stage 10-15 times and try and break my own record.. I don\'t really play championship and stuff so I don\'t know how the opponents\' time compares to mine...

If you like rally cars and you need a simulation, then this is the game for you. On the other hand, if you are more of a GT fan, then I wouldn\'t buy the game before testing it if I was you...

Colin McRae 3... Now thats a title I can not wait to get!!!
I\'ll surely reserve my copy so i can have it on launch though!!!

Thanks nikos and fugue, I\'ve played the demo over and over and I really like it, but that demo is way too easy...so I was thinking maybe the times would be a bit low :)

Anyways, thanks alot...CM3 is gonna rule I think, I read bout it in the Official PlayStation2 mag and they seem to be very happy with what they have done, and even had a dig at WRC :) I thought that was a bit rude ;)

The music for me is very important in racing games, as they make you drive differently and enjoy the experience more...GT3 is good, but my best driving game on PS2 is actually F1 2001 by EA :):) I love that game...so fastttt :)

I\'ve not tried EA\'s F1, is it better than Sony\'s Formula 1 2001? That game kind of put me off F1 games.

Yeah I think CM3 will take some beating, the repair time system and more competition from the other drivers in the PSX games made them much more challenging than WRC, I just hope they do something similar with part 3.
I think most of those comments in the OPS2 magazine were spot on, if a bit rude :eyemouth:

SONYs one sucked for me...yet it still got 10\'s and 9\'s??? how... but EA\'s gets 6\'s and 7\'s and yet it rules for me...

I can\'t work it out either, I am a true F1 fan ;) Love the sport, have followed it for agessssss and love it more then gaming, but EAs one is great...

Better visuals, fast, handling isn\'t as good, it\'s quite hard to master, but it\'s a goood game...anyways, SONYs new Formula One 2002 is out soon, so ya might be better waiting lol :)

Play the WRC demo again, and give me your fastest time for Monaco stage 1...
Mine is 1.49 after 10-12 goes..

Tomorrow I\'m finally gonna buy the game..
Will keep me up for endless nights just like Colin McRae rally...!!

I\'m waiting for your times!
Haven\'t played the other stage so much.

Still trying to beat my time?? hehehe!!

I got the full game, I\'ll buy a proper memory card (the one I have won\'t be recognized by Sony games) and I\'ll tell you some of my other best times as soon as I get them written!!

I\'ve also got a couple of F1 titles coming from ebay and I\'ll be telling you my times to try and beat me!! :)

Have fun playing the game!

Alright,

I done ya task last nite...

I stopped after me 7th go as my eyes were hurting and I wanted to watch a film:)

Here\'s my fastest time together with spilt times, all done via the in-car view...

--------------------
 Lap time | 1:48.02
--------------------
Sector 1 | 0.23.00
Sector 2 | 0.22.04
Sector 3 | 0.22.32
Sector 4 | 0.19.44
Sector 5 | 0.21.22

My fastest lasp time before this slower, but the last 3 sectors were 0.40 faster then the last 3 sectors above, so basically, all my fastest sectors would be 0.4 faster...but I didn\'t hook em all up, so the above time is the one for me :)
