i have thought about it but i just havent done it

my friend is a tattoo artist so i could get a great deal on it but its just a matter of doing it

but yea about the pain - it depends on where you get it the two most panful from what i have heard are the sides of your back - like where you have love handles and then also the back of your knees

heres something i would consider

but not so large and get it on my chest right where my heart is

A very nice tribal Sublimesjg... but it\'s so large from my point of view...

I\'ve got a tribal design that goes around my wrist and part the way up my arm. Took me about six hours to get it done, didn\'t hurt that bad either...

I eventually plan on gettin\' my whole back tattoo\'ed and my ankles.

I have a hung monkey on one arm (don\'t ask!!) and Homer SImpson on the other.
I got the Homer done about 5 years ago for a laugh and am getting it covered over soon.
Aswell as getting this covered over I plan on getting another on my back sometime in the next 6 months.

I never really liked the idea of a tatoo.  Of course when I was younger I\'d buy the fake tatoos because, well they were badass... but I know when I\'m old and wrinkly I\'m not going to want a dragon on my butt... or something along those lines.  So... no tatoo for me

I am glad you dug up this thread, because now I have done it, I have got a tattoo. :)

I had it done on Friday... And it did hurt a lot, but nothing I couldn\'t handle, didn\'t scream, didn\'t cry. ;)

I said I\'d post a pic... But now I\'m pretty paranoid, what if someone decides to have a similar one made :) It\'s on my lower back, people won\'t see it unless I want them to. I\'ve had no problems whatsoever so far, it doesn\'t even itch. No regrets! :)

Oh right, I chose the two kanji (japanese writing) for "budo", martial way.

No offense, but I gurantee plenty other people have it done for the simple fact kanji is the latest tattoo craze. I\'ve seen southern rednecks who have no clue what kanji even is, but like the "symbols" and have them tattoo\'ed on their neck and back,etc...My point? Go ahead and post a picture, don\'t worry about someone copying it. There is the general idea in the body modification community, that there is nothing that hasn\'t been done before. As long as the tattoo means something to you personally, it doesn\'t matter if someone clones it or not.
;)

With that said...If you are seriously interested in body modification, I have a URL that you would enjoy, its the largest and most dedicated site to all forms of body modification. I can\'t post it on the board due to the fact it also has pictures and covers more exreme body modifications (gential piercings, tattoo\'s,etc). Some things that may be considered pornographic. If you want the URL, just let me know.

To give you an idea on how wide range the body modifcation is and how much is covered, here is a picture from the web-site.

LIC, I know what you mean, before I got tattooed I read someone\'s opinion that taking kanji is stupid, because it\'s "in" or whatever, and so many people do it.

But I decided that I would do it anyway, because no matter how many people abuse them, kanji is what is most "me". It tells the world (or doesn\'t, since it\'s pretty much hidden :)) about my love for Japanese culture. And since I cannot and do not want to change that, I chose kanji.

Also, I actually know what my kanji mean, when those who just do it cause it\'s "cool" may not :) And they have a huge meaning to me. Budo is how I want to live my life. :) There\'s other symbolism too... Martial path is painful, and lasts forever. :)

And you are probably right. I should post a pic, incase someone\'s actually interested... I mean... I probably am not the first with a budo tattoo :)

But right now I think I\'ll stick with this one I have. :)

I am thinkin about getting a tattoo of the Texas University longhorn on my back right shoulder. About 6" wide. I think it would look badass.
I never wanted to change the world, i only wanted the simple things, if this is my stage i hope you can hear me screaming, i dont want this shit anymore......

Hahaa, I\'m the only one who\'s seen \'Lady\'s tattoo so far! And I\'m probably among very few people here who\'ll ever see it live :p
