well, about going through the walls - I really haven\'t experienced that yet and I upgraded my piranha ship to the fullest - not even in zone-mode at zone 37 did I fly through walls. About the quake and going over the side - I have only encountered this in one level occasionally (the city one, night), but it only occured while flying very close to the side of the track.
Seven, I know you can turn the weapons off to get a smoother frame-rate, but isn\'t that a concession to one of the many flaws in the game? You shouldn\'t have to turn it off in order to have the game running smooth. I\'m sure they could\'ve ironed this out.
well, yes it is definately a flaw, I just don\'t think it\'s that bad that\'s all. And I am usually very critical where framerate is concern...
There is also a fundamental difference betweem challenging and unfair - being hit by around three or four weapons in quick succesion when there is NOTHING you can do about it is unfair. I completed the other Wipeouts and enjoyed them as a CHALLENGE.
agreed. As I said, it can be very frustrating if you\'re hit by 4 quakes on your way to the pits and booooom there goes your ship. I guess it\'s even more frustrating if this happens in the AQ-League which results in you getting no cash and no points. But once you\'ve completed the AQ-League and don\'t need that cash anymore - it\'s not really that bad and it doesn\'t happen that often unless you don\'t visit the pits every second lap.
To your question if it\'s unfair or challenging: imagine you playing against real players (say multiplayer over the internet) - would you still think it\'s unfair if they blow you away? Do you think twice when you fire a missile at the AI-Ship infront of you? These AI-Ships do the same thing any human player would. Get weapon, arm, fire and away it goes. I see how it can be a pain in the ass, but it also makes it challenging and once you\'ve completed the AQ-League not that much of an issue anymore.
Anyway, I don\'t think the game is perfect. For one, I
HATE the design of the ships. Other than the first ship (huh, forgot the name and I\'m too lazy to take a look), there are all ugly. Too big and bulky. The tracks are very nice though and IMHO some of the best I\'ve seen. The jungle is very nice and so is Florian Hights or what ever. Not all are good though, in example, I hate the ones where you have to fly through a large area and avoid little objects on the track. There are only a few though that have this. Next Wipeout, they should get rid of this IMHO.
The music is very nice and suits the game fine. My favourite tracks are #1, #7 and #9 - so cool.

And well, the other thing that\'s also a bit annoying is the slowdown (agreed), which occurs only when a lot of the ships fire at once. It doesn\'t spoil the game, but it would have been better if they had fixed it.
Oh well, my advice to all who have problems with the game: finish the AQ-League and get the Piranha ship with all the upgrades. By then you should have completed about 30% of the game and therefore unlock Zone-Mode. Give Zone-mode a try and maybe by then - you\'ll love the game. Wipeout diserves it.
Question to those who have the game: how are you guys ranked worldwide? My name is Phil, in team Adrenalin. Last time I checked I was still on rank #44 international with my first try on Zone-1. With the Kappa Challenge (the demo) my best was #34 international. In Switzerland, I hold rank #1.
