GTA3 is the only one in the series that has gotten this huge attention from casual gamers. Sure if Ms does buy it.  It will be a game casual gamers remember.  I don\'t think it would hurt ps2 sales.


And you sure about the 100million dollar thing?? I doubt it sold that much. It could not have done better than FFX. I believe it when I see it. Because if that\'s true that\'s huge.

far as i knew it was 28million+ sold worldwide...even more shipped...

Today, Sony\'s main office in Japan announced that it is lowering the shipment target for the PlayStation 2 console in 2002. Earlier the target number was 20 million for the year ending on March 31, but now it looks more like 18 million. Sony said it shipped 5.42 million units in the three months through December, up from the 2.88 million units sold the previous year.

And granted, GTA3 IS the third in a series, GTA4 is naturally inevitable. Well, guess what? We have heard from good sources that Rockstar and DMA already have begun madly working on a follow-up to Grand Theft Auto III, called Grand Theft Auto Miami, which -- shockingly! -- takes place in none other than the lovely warm beaches and streets of Miami, homes of the Cuban mafia and drug smugglers abandon. That should appear on PS2 by year\'s end 2002. Smart and sweet. It\'s supposed to be more of an add-on, rather than a full-fledged sequel. Boy, that\'ll sell like, erm, gangbusters...

Not only that, but DMA is hard at work on Grand Theft Auto IV, the proper sequel to GTA3, and that should be complete by year\'s end 2003. Sounds good to us. We\'re still playing GTA3 and having a load of fun.

yeah, also there are quite a few links to Miami for those of you thats plaed it and completed the missions.

Sony said they had sold 28million at a press conference on the 25th of January.. (If my memory hasn’t gone totally bad)
