Too bad that other thread got locked (PS2 central) or I would post this there.
mm, you said Halo has zero replayability? 4 player split screen runs at 30 fps, with VERY seldom drops in frame rate--with regular playing, I\'ve never noticed. When my friends come over that\'s all we ever play. No one asks for MGS or Timesplitters. Why, because it\'s the best multiplayer game out for xbox and PS2. If you count sports, xbox has everything PS2 has, but they all look and run better.
Back to Halo:
I\'m sure if everyone worked together to attack the engine it would slow down, but that\'s it. Co-op drops more often, but really the only really bad spot is the final mission with the warthog.
I would love to see another console accomplish Halo with zero slowdown--it wouldn\'t happen.
The fact of the matter is that the xbox is exactly the same price (in N. America) and everything about it is better--controller ports, HD, DVD, etc. It\'s a better value. If you love the Dual shock so much, get the $30 adapter and you can stop whining about that too.
This time next year, the amount of games out will not matter because both consoles will have 100s.
So I don\'t understand why you always have to talk trash about the xbox. The only thing you can say is the amount of games--that is changing and will soon be irrelevant--and the quality of them.
Quality you can always argue, but xbox has released just as many quality titles over the last three months as the PS2 has.
What if I posted the frame rate problems of every PS2 game that came out? It would be a long list of just about every one--how many run at 60 let alone a solid 30? This seems to be your standard complaint, but you never mention it with the PS2. That\'s odd.
EDIT:
This makes me sound like a fanboy, I know, so people who don\'t know me, spare me that; it\'ll save us all a lot of time.
