Setting up help needed
« on: February 14, 2002, 05:08:59 AM »
HI, am having big probs setting up. In the instruction manual on p4 there is a box at the bottom that says that occasionally when the console is set-up on the TV that you can get a bouncing effect on the screen, ie the set-up page bounces all over the screen. It tells you to contact the customer service desk as it\'s not aproblem with the console which I have done now on numerous occasions and they haven\'t a clue. They\'ve got the technical services desk to ring me and all they said was test it on another Tv which I have done and it works..........to be in the service manual it must be a common occurrence and I don\'t want to buy a new tele, can anyone please help a very frustrated father of 2.

Cheers
Don

well thanks for constructive criticism............my first thgts were that it was incompatible with the TV but nowhere does it say this can be the case or have I been told that, hence my enquiry. The tele is only 6 mths old and my old system worked fine........

Gee "MM", can\'t you see the guy is only asking for help from an adults standpoint. This might better help you in your situation.

I apologise for seeming such a numpty, but technology is not my forte.....I just try and follow the instructions and take the advice I\'m given

The site I sent was telling you that there are some televisions that are not compatible with the PS2. If your Television is a PAL TV then it may not work with your PS2. If it is a NTSC television, it won\'t work either. You should check with the company that made your television.

Hmmm, not too sure about this one, mate.

Are you trying a US or JAP game?  If so, your \'problem\' TV might not support 60Hz which is required for these games, hence the jumpy picture.

OR

This may sound daft, but when you trun on your PS2, try flicking through your all your AV channels using your remote control - if I do this, one channel has my PS2 screen slowly moving.

OR

Maybe it\'s just the composite lead your trying.  Have you got a mate with a Playstation SCART lead?  If so, get a loan of his lead and try using that.

Hope you get it sorted out.
