Why are we cloaning these things?
« on: February 15, 2002, 06:41:20 AM »
Seems that we kill enough unwanted cats as it is.  Why do we need to clone them?

I guess to just further prove what most already knew, that cloning can actually be sucessful, that or to piss off the anti-cloning ppl :D

"Anti-allergic" cats would be cool, I hope they  do the same for dogs.

Don\'t you think making "anti-allergic" cats is going a bit too far? I mean, its not just cloning, its like making a whole new species, then releasing it to the public.

I think your right about them being for the elite at first. But I gotta say it would be pretty cool to get a good dog and not have the wife complaining about how the darn thing makes her allergies act up every time it walks into the room.:)

Maybe they\'ll clone a cat that has a less flexible spine so it can\'t reach to lick it\'s own ASS all day!!!

They still have a long way to go in cloning. By that I hear, the technology is going to be licenced to anyone who was the $$$ to put it to good use.

Did you notice the fur of both of those? Rainbow\'s differs from cc aka CopyCat.

Genetics, it\'s such a complex topic. You\'ll never really get a excat copy of a certain thing. Same genetic information, but the embryo is subjected to different environment conditions. Such, if it recieved different nutrients during growth, the outcome will be different. In this case, the fur.

But I must admitt, very impressive asexual reproduction expirement. Did you know out of 87 attemtps, only one died?
You think positive, I\'ll think realistic.
