Which one do you find to be most comfortable, and which one least?

I feel DreamCast and XBox have pretty bad ones. I found GameCube\'s to be pretty nice. And PS2\'s is in the middle.

I never saw what was so bad about the Dreamcast controller.  It was actually quite nice IMO.

I like the PS2 controller\'s versitility.  It\'s pretty confortable and can be used for just about anygame.

The gamecube has an interesting controller.  It\'s the most comfortable to me.  It\'s definetly tailored to Nintendo\'s games, which I can see it working wonders with.  The radical analog placement is very good.  The L and R buttons have potential but Nintendo will most likely be the only one to do anything special with it.

I haven\'t used the Xbox controller much but I dislike how thick it is.  I don\'t feel like I have a firm grasp on it.

The N64 controller wasn\'t too bad.  It was terrible for fighters but worked well very well with platformers (see Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie) and FPS (see GoldEye/Perfect Dark control scheme).  It was comfortable but limited by it\'s three prong design.  Considering it was one of the first (if not the first) controllers to have both analog stick and D-pad it wasn\'t all that bad.  Back then nobody knew where to put the thing.

I\'d say that it\'s a tie between the PS2 and Gamecube controllers for me.  Both have their ups and downs.

It\'s logical you said that the perfect controller would be between PS2 one and GC... for me, GC controller is a copy of Dual Shock, like or don\'t like to people, that\'s.

Xbox has a nice controller, but buttons are so near... anyway I choose PS2/Ps1 controller.

I will say the DC controllers were cool but that’s because I have big hands. But I put my vote on the PS1/PS2 controllers though. They seem to be a bit more "well crafted". They seem solid, and that’s good for me when I loose my temper.:D

I believe it.

Only reason I try all these consoles out is because my friends and I go to this local place where we can play most systems on a big screen. It\'s awesome.

Oh yes, I\'m also liking my Logitech Wingman Rumblepad. It\'s pretty much like a PS2 shape, but layed out a bit different. I use it all the time for THPS2.

My vote also goes with the PS1/PS2 joypad although very closely followed by the N64 controller.
It may have been a bit weird to get used to but I have never found one as precise to control and aim for FPS especially my all time fave Goldeneye.

the best one would have to be the Sony Controllers for the PS1 and 2 and he worst would have to have been the awful Atari Jaguar Controllers (the Keypad in the middle........oh god!) I usd to be a BIG Atari Jaguar Advocate but I came around........thank god........

I always liked the DC pad, except when it came to fighting games such as Street Fighter 3: Third Strike. ;)

As for the XBox controller - well, its from hell. The analog sticks are placed in odd positions, the controller is way to big, the buttons are not textured and too close to each other and last but not least the D-pad F**king sucks. Play Genma Onimusha and I gurantee you will see every flaw in the Xbox pad highlighted by ten times.

I have no complaints about the PS2 controller , \'cept it breaks easy. Not that I throw it or anything...(note: Last controller broken was due to a jump in Maximo!)

The GC controller is just fine also, though I can see it being complete and utter hell for a game of Street Fighter.

You wouldn\'t go to the store owned by "Gord" would you? ;)
(P.S - http://www.actsofgord.com  - Its a videogame website ran by a guy who owns a videogame store. He complains about idiot customers and so on. BUt he has a big screen TV for people to try the games out on...)

Nope. It\'s local for sure. You can tell when part of the name comes from the street it\'s on.

least fav would be DC\'s - it felt cheaply made and not too sturdy and my small hands didnt work well with it either

Honestly I don\'t care.  After playing with one for a little bit I get use to it, no matter how freaked up it may be.

But IMHO, the Japanese XBOX comtroller is 10X better than the US XBOX controller.

Japanese Saturn = Best

And isn\'t the original Sony controller a copy of the SNES controller?
July 2002: If you had bought $1000.00 worth of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00. Enron, $16.50 left. Worldcom, $5.00 left. If you had bought $1,000.00 worth of Budweiser beer one year ago, drank it all and turned in the cans for the 10 cent deposit, you would have $214.00. Based on the above, my current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

sure Ashford, whatever :p

Actually the Japanese Saturn pad/redesigned US pad is the 2nd best controller. (it is the best pad for fighting games) The Saturn NiGHTS pad is THE BEST controller ever. Anyone who hasn\'t put their hands on this has exactly no opinion on the matter. It is perfect in every way. The analog stick is stiff enough without being hard to press, the rocking d-pad is still the best out there. six face buttons all the same size and on rows of 3 (a masterpiece), analog triggers and a shape that should be the model for every controller not the can\'troller Dual Shock 2. Ever try doing a shoryuken on a DS? hahahaha!!
