Soda or Pop?

I\'f I\'m talking about one specific kind, I\'ll call it by its name. But if I\'m talking about several kinds, I call it pop. That\'s what we call it here in Alberta, and probably the rest of Canada.

"Soda" sounds gay to me, so I guess it all depends on which one you use

I don\'t really call it anything.  I just go and get something to drink.  I don\'t announce that I\'m going to get it.

Sometimes.  But I usually prefer to just hit the table until they give me what I want.

well I dont really use the word soda. I just say Hey you want a pepsi? or Hey you want a coke? or Hey get me a pepsi etc you get the picture. But I never used the word pop. It just sounds wierd. When I hear the word pop, I think of pop stars like Britney Speared or NStink.

This thread should have been a poll with Soda, Pop, Coke, and Pepsi as the choices (and maybe an "other" choice too).

Here in Utah, everyone calls it pop.  But I call it Soda because I like the attention that I get when I say a word that isn\'t used very often here. :)

The only reason they call it Pop in Utah is because everyone in that state came from the midwest.  Utah really isn\'t a western state since it\'s completely populated by midwesterners.

Hmmm.  I didn\'t know that they had Soda/Pop back in the 1800s when the pioneers settled in Utah. ;)  And actually, the people started to come from New York, so there goes that "midwest" theory. :)
