Want havoc, chaos and mayhem? Forget SoE! Get Dynasty Warriors 3 instead!

I love this game, repetitive....yet very entertaining! I love playing it on hard level with a maxed out warrior like Lu Bu or Wei Yan!

What\'s this game, you ask? Think of Braveheart, the movie with Mel Gibson. But it\'s 3rd century China and you take control of one warrior to go out and kill literally thousands of enemies. On screen, you may have to kill as many as 30 to 40 enemies! And they keep coming! Chaos and mayhem!

Plus, it\'s based on a true story. Though not very accurate.

Yup, sure is a great game. . . only had it for a little bit, haven\'t totally maxed out anyone yet. . . but I\'m working on it!  2 player co-op is awesome!

It does get a bit dizzying with split screen. I was hoping Koei had an i-link option but it didn\'t. But it\'s within tolerance for most people.

Yet, the game rocks as a single player! Unlike DW2, DW3 allows you to pick new weapons that may enhance reach, defense, offense, bow attack, bow defense...etc. Then there\'s the items you pick up and can use later on that help increase your life bar, musuo bar, musou charge, attack and defensive ablities.

What makes this game shine is that each battle hinges on which general you support at certain times. On hard mode, it\'s not always the same general that needs support. And this can lead to different events in some battles!

Also, the enemy archers are more lethal now than before! You can hack and slash your way through the front lines and then WHAM! And rain of arrows! And if you go too far, you\'ll become the only target!

Trust me, this game is far mroe intense than SoE. I\'m not saying SoE is bad. I\'m sure it\'s a decent game. But before you buy SoE, rent DW3 first and then compare later. You\'ll see.

Heh, yeah.. I love DW3.  I\'ve recently taken some time away from FFX to go back and play through the Musou mode again to try and unlock more characters.  I was addicted to DW2 back during the PS2\'s early years, and it seems I\'ll feel the same way with the sequel.  Truly an enticing game, though not for everyone.

That wouldn\'t work in DW3.  For one, the two characters start out on different areas of the level.  Secondly, the maps are insanely huge, so it would be a rare enough occurance for both characters to be near each other at any one time.  

Splitscreen\'s not so bad.  You\'ll most likely forget about the size of your viewing angle when you\'re slashing away at dozens of enemy soldiers, and after a while you\'ll get used to it.

It\'s nice to see that people on this board love Dynasty Warriors 3 as much as I do.  I still haven\'t reached the levels where you get to ride on the Elephants.  The game reminds me so much of the movie Braveheart.  I would like to see Koei make a game dealing with Demons, with all sorts of creatures.  I know that Koei is making a game for Gamecube similar to Dynasty Warriors but a different theme.

Guan Yu is probably the easiest warrior to start with. His Musuo is like a tornado, complete 360\'s with a wide arc! You want to clear a crowd of enemies? Get Guan Yu.

I just got Xu Huang\'s 4th Weapon. He\'s bad ass with this, and his stats aren\'t even maxed out yet and he\'s kicking ass on hard level(albeit the early stages).

But no one compares to a maxed out Lu Bu with his ulitmate 4th weapon Haldbred(or however it\'s spelled). It\'s got a lightning element too! DAMN!

Battle of Wu Zhang Plains and Battle of Yi Ling are headaches for me. All those damn archers!

Is it pretty much Dynasty Warriors 2, except with better graphics, and maybe a better AI?

Dynasty warriors 2 was pretty good i hope num 3 is!!!

Same game, but the blocking has been toned down. In DW2, you could block almost anyone from any angle. Not in DW3. Makes it far more challenging. The AI is far more aggresive in Normal and especially Hard! Sheesh! In hard level, you probably won\'t be able to kill all of the generals in the later battles since they\'re just as strong as you. Plus, they almost always have a platoon of archers! And they will shoot you down in a hurry! So don\'t go into the fray without support or all the arrows will be aimed at only you!

Also, you can have you bodygaurds use bows, crossbows, spear, pike or sword. You can even choose how many badyguards you want.

Im gonna borrow this game from my friend over the weekend. It sounds like alot of fun. I realy enjoyed DW2 so i think that ill like the third one

Im getting a demo of DW3 tomorrow with the official PS2 mag. So ill see what its like then
