Nextgame.it: Let\'s talk about the next Zelda: why did you decide for the Cel-Shaded engine? It seems the videogamers split in two parties, and half of them didn\'t appreciate the idea. Are you planning to change the visual of the game because of this?

Shigeru Miyamoto: I think it\'s not wise to talk about something before having the chance to test it. Only playing you can judge a game and, after E3 2002, when you all will be able to play with the new Zelda, we will talk again about it.

Maybe the new style allows Link to be brought alive in ways you could\'ve never imagined with the old style?

Maybe he joins the Powerpuff Girls or something else übercool?

Maybe Miyamoto needs to take his medication more regularly?

Maybe we\'ll all be just blown away and feel sorry for all the bad things we said of the new design? (<-- *raises pinkie to mouth* Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...)

On the contrary, I think cel-shaded graphics fits perfectly with the GameCube and the next Zelda. After all, cel-shaded means bright and colourful and cartoony which fits perfectly with the kiddie gamers Nintendo is going after...as easy as taking candy from a kid. Hee-hee.

I looked at the Sonic game for GC and that too looks far to childish to garner any interest from me.  I used to love Sonic, but I\'ve grown up and it just doesn\'t appeal to me anymore.  J&D is a cartoonish game, but it\'s style is still grown up, I can live with that.  But a cell shaded Zelda--give me Diablo or Maximo anyday.

Something tells me Sonic 2 on the GC looks a little washed out compared to the DC version. The DC version, which I own, looks absoulty stunning.

Those really are other words, since that\'s not what he\'s saying at all. ;]

It\'s more like "Don\'t bash it til you\'ve tried it - stupid jackass reporter!  Wtf is a \'.it\' site anyway?  You\'re lucky I\'m even giving you the time of day let alone directing sentences towards you.  Why don\'t you go get a real job instead of sitting on your ass all day complaining about my work when no matter how awful, it\'s still ten times better than anything you\'ll ever produce.  And that includes children.  Pimpled freak.  Go to hell and take your goddam Xbox loving mentality with you."

Something like that. :)

Jealous of hideo kojima ? Last I checked Miyamato has plenty of hit games, where as Kojima has what? Two Metal Gear Solid games...I mean, lets not forget how bad Z.O.E sucked. Miyamato has no reason to be jealous of Kojima, infact it should be the other way around...

Eik said it all (and more). He just refuses to comment on the game until people have played it.

Kojima also made Policenauts and Snatchers, two of the most stylish games I have played ever.

I forget about those two, thanks for reminding me Altered. ;)

Still, my point remains, Miyamoto has no reason to be jealous of Kojima..Now, being jealous of Suziki is a whole other story.

Cannot wait to see what Shenmue II/III looks like on XBox (droooollll)

Hah.. ya know I was just playing Shenmue earlier today. I was walking around Sakuragaoka admiring the scenery thinking.. "If you tossed in a few polygons here and there, got rid of popup pedestrians, and added bump mapping.... This WOULD be an Xbox game!" Even after all this time, the original Shenmue still stuns with it\'s awesome graphics. Almost hard to believe that the Dreamcast is even capable of that.

Now I\'m REALLY looking forward to see what Shenmue II & III can do on the Xbox! :bounce:
