new video card recommendations...

i currently have a 64mb geforce 2 mx 400 with tv-out.  its a great card, but its not that powerful, games look great, but i can\'t get the resolution up that high, otherwise the game slows down.
i am running an AMD 1.4ghz, 256mb ddr pc2100, 60GB 7200rpm HD, SB Live! 5.1.  i have my choices up in the poll, but if you guys have other suggestions, lay it on me.  i dont want to spend a lot of money, but if i must, then i can spare it.

well personally I\'m getting the decked out GeForce 4 Ti4600 before the end of summer after I get 512mb of ram so I can play some of the newer games at more than 30fps with all effects on.  But the ram is more for all the windows I have open.  Anywayz since you have a 1.4Ghz a Geforce 3 is more than enough since the GeForce 4 is pretty expensive and don\'t even touch the watered down GeForce Mx it is inferior to the Geforce 3...hope I helped.

GATEWAY!  GATEWAY!  I will Never EEEEEVER buy from them again!  I would personally get the Geforce 4Ti  I like Nvidias products.....they keep their drivers updated too (some are beta tho.......)  the geforce 4Ti should be good for a year or 2 before the Geforce5 comes out (I hate it when the bring out new Stuff every year or every other year......things get out-dated too quick).

GF4 Ti4600 if you want the absolute best. Otherwise get a GF3 Ti500 or a Radeon 8500.

hmmm...seems to be a toss up between gf4 and gf3.  i think that the geforce 3 ti500 might be best because of its price, thats if i can get a good deal on it.  what can i do with my gf mx?  how much do you think i can sell it for on ebay?  i had it for about 8 months, 64mb version with tv-out.  i got the original box, manual, driver disc, composite cable, everything.  like $50? $40?

GF4 Ti4200 should be $200 or less (if I remember correct). I would wait for that one.

i have a geforce3 by Gladiac and its pretty damn sweet - i got it at a good price too a while back so i imagine its gone down some

if you need top of the line id just say go for the gef 4 but 3 is still got plenty potential left

Gah....probably not the best thread for my first post seeing as it looks like I\'m the only ATI fan here. :D

All 3 are great cards, but I prefer the Radeon series myself to the GeForce.  Nvidia\'s cards are great, but their drivers are usually too unstable for what I do aside from gaming (video editting, etc).  Although the newer Detonators have been a drastic improvements.

Well, I\'d go with the Geforce 3.  Actually, I\'m that\'s the card I\'m planning on purchasing for my computer in the near future :)
