I absolutely love Futurama, but I must say the loyal fan base is quite small, dooming the show for a sort-lived life.  I\'ll be sad to see it go.  I want more Simpson-esk style cartoons!

A friend of mine works for Futurama.  His position is "Assistant to the Producers" and you can see his name in the credits if you look really fast.  

So anyway, it\'s true that Futurama is gone after this season, but don\'t worry.  All the people working on it already have other jobs lined up.  My friend told me an interesting story about this petition you\'re referring to.  One of the Production Assistants on the show, a guy that everyone hates, was asked to print out the petition just to keep him busy.  He usually does nothing.  I\'m not sure how the story ends, except that he only printed half of it and it was a massive huge stack of paper.  The petition was completely ignored by Fox, and even the people on the show don\'t want to see that damn petition again.  :)

If you want a show to stay around, you\'ve got to tell people to watch it before it gets cancelled.  In order for a show to get uncancelled, that would require someone at Fox admitting they were wrong, and as we all know that almost never happens in Hollywood.  Sorry, the facts of life man.

ya well fox\'s loss....is it possible for it to be picked up by a different broadcasting company?

.......but fox seems like the only station that airs these types of shows...it would seem weird to see futurama or FG on NBC or something hehe:D

still waiting for cartoon network to get ren and stimpy away from VH1 and put it on adult swim.


i guess it doesnt matter cause i get to see it anyway... i just love adult swim.

bah they should cancel the Simpsons instead, face it they\'ve been doing it for so long and it\'s becoming stale :(

I love the show as much as the next guy, but if I had the choice between a sterile simpsons show and a fresh Futurama I\'d take Futurama.

Those petitions don\'t work.  All the animators have been told that they will not be working next year, so nothing can really be done.

I just wish we didn\'t have to much syndication in North America.  They already have Family guy DVDs out in Europe, and it\'s gonna be another 2 or 3 years before we get em here.
