Is Everquest worth buying?  I\'ve been seriously considering it.  Is it better than Dark Majesty and DAOC in your opinion?

It is my 2nd favorite game, so yes.  It is definately worth buying, especially if you have high lvl friends playing it.  If you don\'t, me and the others here will help ya!

Buy EQ (I wanna get everyone else addicted too ;)) It\'s definitely one of the best games I\'ve played, well, I don\'t think it\'s a normal game, it\'s something more *mysterious grin*

It probably does help to have high lvl friends play it, I have one... The scariest (not to mention coolest) necromancer in the world of Norrath (dm) but he doesn\'t play anymore. :( I had luck with my main character... When I was around lvl 7 I grouped with a very generous & nice person who gave me money to buy spells and proceeded to buy me a complete set of new gear, which I still wear cause it\'s so.. um good.. Well, don\'t have money to buy better. ;)

Let\'s keep this thread up as the thread for us EQ people of the forums.

Agnino, I started a ... warrior (I know it\'s a boring class and whatnot yada yada yada) Race... hmm... I dunno if I should tell you this... But it\'s a half elf... I didn\'t really want to be a barbarian, and that was the only choice for me of the good warrior races, since I want to be a troll or an ogre even less. I\'ll be sure to give you a tell soon. Maybe you could arrange me to FP, cause I wanna go there. ;)

Is there anything else to do in EQ than fighting/levelling? Perhaps it\'s just me but that sort of gameplay just doesn\'t excite me... so what else does this magical game offer? :)

Edit: Or is there anything that makes levelling particularly interesting in this game?

Sure u can roleplay, but personaly... I find that boring as hell.
Other then Lvling... u can do Quests, and at higher lvl u can do raids, and raids is the coolest thing with the game. But if u dont like lvling, u wont like this game... since u wont progress then.

SmallLady: If I was you, I would start a Ogre Warrior, they are some of the best looking characters with the Luclin graphic, they are also the best warriors. They look crazy, evil scary hehe :) But then again, Im not u . Half Elf works fine , and I can show u Freeport. And help u with some cash in the begining. And btw, dont consider Warrior as a boring class, its not. Warrior is one of the most needed classes in game. Just find yourself a good cleric friend to group with ;)

Yeah, you can get VERY drunk. Just today I fell of the dock while I was fishing.

And when you talk when you\'re drunk it\'s more like.  "Wear can me get da boot?"

hehe yea getting drunk also adds stregth but its pretty worthless otherwise

i find it funny and all to be really drunk in wolf form - man the world looks like its hauling butt around you

and doesn anyone here use EQW - the deal that puts it in window mode - i tell thank god for whoever made that

For sure. I\'m spoiled now, the few times I play I have to use EQW. No longer confined to EQ while I\'m playing. It\'s a great thing.

I have EQW :) But usualy I dont use it.....
In Skyfire Mtns, I was so drunk I could not cast a spell.... got a drake on me, and he finished me off before I could even "burp" :(

I bought EQ.  Hehe, I just haven\'t told my mom I bought it, and I also used my debit card to sign up....heh....Well, I can say I really wish i had The Luclin expansion because the graphics hurt my eyes.  Second, I have only been able to play for an hour and the hour seemed to go by in a minute.  Crap.  I think I\'m getting addicted already.

Last night me and my friend went to that Tree house thing where the aviaks hang in in South Karana.  Well, we thought we could take them but as it turned out when he was pulling, he pulled like 5 the con\'ed red to me, so I did feign death and they all kicked his ass! :)

but yea ive got EQ installed at work now so ill really be leveling now lol bwhahaha
