Internet Explorer problems
« on: February 26, 2002, 04:44:28 PM »
Hey, for quite some time now i\'ve been having this annoying problem with IE.

Whenever i get a popup Ie performs an illieal operation and shuts down.  but the pop up always has( as a window title) "about: blank" written at the top.

Anyone else have this problem?  anyone know how to fix it?

When it happens and i go to details the problem always has to do with a dll file named RPCRT4.DLL.

Also, i am running IE version 6,0 and i have tried reinstalling many times already.

all help apreciated:)

There\'s a dll file you have to fix. . . I forgot which one.  Go to your help menu, then click on Online Support, find your way through, and they\'ll email you a solution within\' 24 hrs.  They\'re pretty good about that kind of stuff.

How are you accessing these forums if your internet doesn\'t work?  Are you able to use any other browser (like Netscape), or does it crash when you try to use those too?  If it crashes nomatter what browser you use, then it\'s probably a problem with the C:\\WINDOWS\\Cookies\\index.dat file.  If that is the case, respond here with your email adress and I\'ll email the file to you with instructions of how to replace the file (it is harder that you would think.  I just don\'t understand why Microsoft made this file so fragile.)
