i really liked it, but i think i did, cos o always thought i wouldnt.....i normally hate platformers, but after i played the demo i was hooked.!!!!

the reason, it didnt make the game harder by just making bigger gaps, they you need more luck to make

Jak and Daxter is LAME

Its truly disspointing that peoples opinions who I respected cannot get past the fact that ND did absolutly nothing special in the gameplay department

Nothing, Zippo. J+D is Crash and Mario 64 mixed. That is not worthy of praise, and people should be pissed off at ND for there inability to do something different

Give them credit for the graphics engine, but the game blew.

The characters wer\'re designedto appease Western and Eastewrn gamers. They weren\'t designed out of artistic integrity. ND sold out and made a game based on nothing but what would be succesful

No originality and yet people are willing to praise them for making a game based off mathematical success

And he still stands for what he believes....I\'m right there with you.

While I did find the gameplay overtly stale, I found some of it to be enjoyable.  You didn\'t even like it a little bit??

Maybe a little, but not enough to give it praise like so many have (sheeple ;) ). I\'m trying desperately to rally the troups and put pressure on ND to make a truly epic adventure

a game like J+D left me to ask

were was the challenge

where were the boss battles

what was with all the 1 hit enemies.

how about a more engaging nonpredictable storyline

ND also dissapoints me since they mathmatically designed charaters / storyline and gameplay to appease all territories, and then add only gameplay elements that has worked before

we all deserved something much better. ND could do much much better

Maybe it is just me. I guess I expected ND to make a more hardcore mature platformer that would re-define the genre and make people take notice, instead of trying to be like Nintendo

I think what you rather mean is what makes it special/different?

It\'s good because it has proven and rock solid gameplay, but that\'s also its\' downfall and what makes it another "me too."

I\'d say the only thing special about it is the seamless world...but that\'s hitting on the graphics...

people should enjoy Jak and Daxter for what it is - not what it could of been. There are a lot of things that gave me a hell of a good time in this game, and I\'m not speaking about the graphics. It\'s fun as hell and the design is beautiful. What\'s so wrong with making a fun platformer? Sure the graphics add to it, but if I want something with a bit more brains to it, I\'ll play a adventure game or something. I think some people are trying to see Jak and Daxter as a game that it was never intended to be. That\'s just my opinion.

J&D is my personal game of the year.

ddaryl,

ND freely borrowed from other games put them together and cashed in with Crash. The only thing original in the entire series that I can really put my finger on is the look plus maybe their own brand of humor. What made you expect so much more from J&D

I also have think your copy of the game having several areas with frame rate problems helped to fuel the giant letdown.

For anyone interested,

I read an interview with the ND team in GameInformer on the making of J&D. One of the major goals was to bring to players a seamless load free world and doing so affected every step in developing the engine and tools needed for building the game, making that part of the job "ten times harder" than it would have been otherwise.

Not to say that everyone should like the game because they had to work so hard, just pointing out ND regarded it as an important enough next generation feature to be worth the trouble. I was impressed by it but can\'t say it really added much to the gameplay. The huge draw distance, movement and life at every turn, all added to the experience. Like entering another world

No this doesn;t even fathom into it at all. I\'ve played many games with framerate drops and still love them.

Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3 we\'re 100 times better to me then J+D.

J+D was crap

I don\'t know why, Ddaryl, that you are complaining about this game... I thought it was a very addictive game.... I got close to beating it, then happened to buy Baulder\'s Gate, GTA3, and FFX all in the same day... So I just forgot about it... I remember my percentage through the game was 80+. The only thing not real great about it that I can see is that it won\'t have any replay value for me...

Perhaps you grew? And, after playing GTA3 for example haha, you found out those little games aren\'t for you?:D

But your dissing it like it\'s not even a game, who cares if it plays like this Mario game you mentioned... It\'s not like everyone\'s played what you\'ve played, you child you.:p
.... take the skin and peel and back...

now doesn\'t it make you feel better?

and yet nobody can explain in any detail on what makes the game fun

Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3 we\'re heluva alot more fun

I just hated Jak and Daxter. I thought Mario 64 stunk as well, but really enjoy Crash 2 and 3

to each there own I guess

It bothers me cause if people deem J+D  as great then I\'ll be stuck watching more of them get made.

I truly loathe and fear this possibility.

but I refuse not to speak my mind
