it\'s just as much a sport as golf?

No, i don\'t think it\'s a sport. Just like golf isn\'t a sport. They are hobbies that take a certain amount of skill. In my mind a sport is anything that requires running, jumping, anything physical. It has to be something where you have to be in shape.

Golf is in the sports section.  It\'s on ESPN.  In Sports Illustrated.

Point made.

Golf isn\'t a sport in my eyes. A 100 year old man can play it.

No, ice skating is a sport. You have to be in shape to do it and have great balance. A fat old guy can\'t ice skate but he can play golf. He can also go bowling.

If you\'re saying golf isn\'t a sport, and figure skating is, then you have some twisted views of the sports world.  A fat man can figure skate, just not well

You have to be in a different kind of physical shape to play golf.  you have to have strong arms, and be accurate in hitting the ball to play well.  You see fat men in football games all the time.  Are they not athletes?

yes its true.. at least in my eyes, as i am an avid pool player and bowler. and it does require a good amount of skill for both, its not just physical skill, but mental skill as well. just because it doesnt involve running or getting in shape for, it is a sport which involves much practice and time put into it to be good at. this doesnt mean you have to come up with stupid **** and ask if its a sport just because it has common characteristics for why its a sport.. i mean use common sense.  hell they play this on ESPN, and last time i checked... it was a sports station. i mean it couldve turned into the home of competitve masturbation over the last couple of days, but im sure it didnt.. cuz i havnt got the call yet.

Do you consider video games a sport?  They require mental and physical skill, dexterity, hand eye co-ordination, and play in organized tournaments.  There are TV shows in which they play off, on channels like Youth TV.  Is it a sport?  I don\'t think so.

You say to use \'common sense\', but that\'s based on values, because my common sense tells me pool and bowling are not sports.  They might be closer than videogaming is to being a sport, but not sports none the less.  I consider them hobbies, which have moved into a grey area between hobby/sport.  Videogames, btw, for me are still 100% hobbies.

But those fat men are completely different. When your 330 pounds and can run the 40 in less than 6 seconds, you can talk.

So are you telling me that the professional golf players you see are all less fit than NFL linemen?  Please.

How does asking if bowling is a sport result in the criticism of every other sport known to man.. everyone has different views so deal with it and dont raise the questioin if one sport is really a sport because half the ppl will say yes, the other no, then someone will say well if wutevers a sport then that has to be.
like if i said if  cheerleadings a sport then everything must be..  it doesnt matter!
