Eagles cheerleaders add 73 plaintiffs in peeping tom suit
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders have expanded their law suit to include 73 additional plaintiffs in their case that alleged NFL players from the visiting locker room at Veteran\'s Stadium spied on them while they showered and dressed.
The additional cheerleaders brings the total number of plaintiffs up to 117 in the suit, which was filed in Philadelphia Common Pleas court.
The suit names 29 NFL teams and 500 un-named players, coaches and other team personnel, and seeks punitive damages for "invasion of privacy, trespass, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence, failure to supervise, conspiracy and outrageous conduct."
Only the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles have not been named in the suit. Jacksonville has never played a game at Veteran\'s Stadium, while the Eagles\' locker room is in a different part of the building.
Attorney Michael McKenna represents the cheerleaders, and said that recent stories have confirmed that the peeping activities have been ongoing since 1973, thus explaining the vast number of plaintiffs.
The Eagles cheerleaders\' locker room and showering facility is adjacent to the visitor\'s locker room. The suit alleges that the cheerleaders could be viewed through holes scraped through painted-over windows, gaps between doors and by slipping mirrors under doors.
McKenna did not say exactly how much he expects to win for his clients, but did say that it would have to be significant.
