Warning: Playstation 2 Defect
« on: March 01, 2002, 02:06:12 PM »
Yes there is a serious defect with the older PS2s. I know because I have it. The defect is the laser lens is set to high so the DVD-ROMs (because their with is a little more larger than normal CD\'s) will scratch the laser lens. This in turn also scratches the DVD-ROM disks. The blue bottom disks do not get scratched but because the lens is damaged, they will not load. If you have problems similar to these and your warranty is still good, REPLACE IT IMMEDIATLY!! The problem will only get worse over time. Just thought that you should all know.

There\'s defects with the newer PS2\'s as well.  That what happens when you cut costs by using cheap hardware.  I have been lucky so far.  I hear so many stories on so many message boards that their PS2 is screwed up.  I still have my launch PS1 and it works perfectly.:D

silly people. I take care of my stuff.
