NOA\'s Ken Lobb leaves the company, goes to Microsoft.

IGNcube has learned that Nintendo of America\'s Ken Lobb has left the company to go to work for Microsoft. No reasons were given for the long-time producer\'s decision to resign.
Ken Lobb has worked together with Nintendo and its second-parties for many years. His contribution on the Rare game GoldenEye earned him an immortal spot in the shooter as the Klobb Gun (Ken Lobb Gun). In more recent times, Lobb was involved with such GameCube projects as Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader and Metroid Prime.

IGNcube has long admired Lobb\'s work and his dedication to Nintendo. His presence from the Nintendo side of the business will be greatly missed. With that, we wish him the best of luck on his new life with Microsoft.

Yet another highly respected Nintendo employee leaves. I do wonder what position he took and what his plans are for MS.

On related notes, with all these changes going on internally at Nintendo, it can only mean massive changes business wise, for the better or worse. I tend to believe the changes will lean towards the worse.

Living-in-Clip: Oh, but of course it\'s for the worse. There\'s never a bright side with Nintendo..

I mean, Yamauchi stepping down.. Main/Arakawa throwing in the towel due to "retirement"..

If Nintendo\'s tactics were bad before, why can\'t these changes improve things? I happened to like most of what those guys did (especially Yamauchi) but some things must change. Maybe the new management and some modified business tactics will help Nintendo get back on top! I feel that Nintendo is still in the game against Microsoft and Sony.. but they\'re lagging behind.

Perhaps by the end of 2002, Nintendo\'s future will be much brighter. We\'ll see.

whoa, that\'s pretty suprising. I wonder why suddenly so many people are leaving Nintendo... this can\'t be a very good sign.

I do hope though that it\'s for the better - maybe it is the change Nintendo needs to get back where it once was.

Miyamoto could of been the reason, but i supose we will never know , well nt unless

Mr Lobb or Miyamoto holds a press confrence on the matter.

It could be some internal affairs, some fumes that haven\'t yet been vented. Perhaps it\'s the lack of effort or enthusasium within Nintendo that drove him off.

Or maybe it\'s because that "lunch box" approach got to him and he wanted to settle for a console that looked like a supercharged VCR

I hated the klob, its one of the most worthless weaposn in a game ever

Perhaps he changed his job for the reason most people change their jobs: money, work environment, creative control.  I just changed jobs mostly for a pay increase.  Does that mean my new employer is evil and wicked?  No.  Just because someone left N for MS doens\'t mean N is lacking or MS is evil.

It means there was a better position, all things considered, at MS.
