I\'m thinking about what baseball game im gonna get this year.

triple play
all star baseball
high heat baseball
that sega baseball game (cant think of the name)

i was wondering what kind of experiences you all have had with these games, all ive ever bought is triple play but i might try something else this year if one of the other games is better.

what y\'all think?

Well I have High Heat 2003

And it\'s FANTASTIC, ultra-realism in this game.

Player animations are so smooth, and I\'ve played about 100 games in my season, and I\'m still seeing things new and the anouncers are still saying different things.

I\'ve played every BB game offered, and this one is the best hands down. My opinion of course, but I\'m a HUGE baseball fan and I say you can\'t go wrong with this title.

I\'ve read the previews for triple play and they aren\'t changing much from lastyear. Triple Play is too arcade like for me.

All-Star is a good game but, it will really take something great to beat High Heat 2003.

That\'s Triple play. My favorite baseball game is TP2001 for PS1. But after playing with the PS2 games, the graphics are kinda lame.

High Heat added Homerun Derby this year and also the 2 vs 2 challenge. It\'s alot of fun too. You get a batter and a pitcher and acumulate points with hits and strikeouts. But what really impresses me about High Heat is the VCR instant replay. You can view anything from any angle in slow motion.  And it\'s really amazing when you dive for a ball in the outfield and your player does a flip to watch it over and over agin in slow motion.

Here\'s a quick run down on HH2003

Excellent game! Batting is just like real life if you leave the pitch preview off. You can guess pitches but you don\'t get a lock on cursor enabling you to bash it out of the park everytime you guess the right pitch. And that\'s a plus in my book! However if you do guess the right pitch you\'ll hit it hard somewhere.

This game has varible umpires from game to game! One game the ump my call em high, and the next you might not get a high strike but get strikes on the inside and not the out.

The camera will cut away sometimes when you have a runner on base showing the third base coach flashing signs in bunt or steal sitiuations!!!

There is player ejections! Manny Ramirez got tossed in the first inning when the ump rung him up with a high strike at the letters.  Player injuries add realism to the game. You plunk a guy hard enough in the head, he\'s headed to the DL. But you pitcher might get tossed so be carefull.

There is tons of more things I could mention, but this was the funniest thing I\'ve ever seen in a baseball game.

It\'s the bottom of the ninth inning, I\'m pitching with the bases loaded and it\'s a 3-2 count. I don\'t remember who was at bat or even what team I was playing it happened some 30-40 games ago. Anyways I rare back throw a backdoor slider and catch the guy looking for strike three. Ump yells STRIIIIIIIIIKKKKEEEEEEE 3! And starts doing a little dance down the first base line, I laughed so hard and watched the replay of him making his dancing called 3rd strike at least 10 times. It was freaking hilarious!

HIGH HEAT BASEBALL 2003

Best baseball game ever! Run to your nearest store and get a copy. Even if you don\'t like baseball you\'ll enjoy playing this game.

Has anyone picked up ASB2003? I have High Heat 2003 and I am very happy with it, but I was just wondering how people who got ASB2003 feel about that game?

Last night I finally pitched a complete game. Was with David Wells and the Yankees against the Red Sox. Won 5-1. Still havent pitched a shutout or a no hitter. I remember pitching a no hitter with Mike Mussina on All Star Baseball for Nintendo 64.

Anyone else notice with High Heat 2003 that the Red Sox are tough as nails to beat? They are 10-3 in my season.

I am playing on All Star level. Seems kinda easy so far. I am 10-4 with the Yankees.

To the poster above, you have already played over 100 games in your season? How many games do you play each day? I\'ve had the game for like two weeks and have only played 14 games. I dont know if I will ever even finish just one season.

I have noticed some bugs in the game. Mostly with the announcers. Sometimes they will say something like "so and so would like to have a good debut with his new team", but sometimes they will say it about a guy who has been with that team for a while. I think they left a lot of the sound clips from HH2002 in this years game or something which would explain the mistakes.

When I first got the game I wore it out :) I could easily play 10 games a day. My games run anywhere from 35 mins to an hour. So i just played and played, now i might play one game a day.

I play on All-Star level as well. I have pitched many shutouts and even a one hit shutout. Took no no into the 8th inning. I use the Chi Sox and my season stats are very close to real life stats. I don\'t use pitch preview or strikezone, I like for the game to be as real as possible. Team leaders are: AVG Thomas .322, HR\'s Konerko 28, RbI\'s Konerko 92, Dbl\'s Ordonez 44, Trp\'s Loften 7, SB Loften 26.
W-L  Jim Parque 15-6 122 k\'s,  Saves Keith Foulke 27. BS\'s Keith Foulke 5.
Team Record 67-59 woohoo 1 month left in my season!! I\'m gonna make the playoffs!

Anyways as for ASB2003,  I haven\'t played this years game, but I have seen it. Graphically, High Heat Baseball is NO match. Gameplay & AI wise, High Heat Baseball is the best! Now untill I have played ASB I can\'t tell you much about it. Although I have read many reviews and ASB just lacks gameplay from what I hear.

I\'ll probably rent it this weekend, so I\'ll tell you what I think if I can get a copy. If it\'s better than High Heat I\'ll be getting it and trading in High Heat, but I\'m in love with the realism of hitting and pitching in high heat.

I don\'t like cursors and strikezones visible so I\'ll have to see what options are availible with ASB. Cause I really enjoy HHB.

every review ive read pretty much says the same thing you did.

ASB is much better looking, but High Heat has the gameplay.

I\'m a b!tch about stats, and i really get annoyed when im playing a baseball game on its highest difficulty level, and still hitting 80 home runs a season with my players home run hitting ability set at like 70.

thats why im not getting triple play anymore.

I would much rather have a realistic season than prettier graphics.

I\'m gonna go look at some pics from both games now. I still havent decided but I\'m leaning towards High Heat.

Before that though i have to finish my NBA season. I\'m in the Eastern Conference final with my beloved Bulls.

How did I get to the Eastern Conference Finals with the Bulls you ask?

I have no idea.

My stats don\'t seem quite as realistic as yours. I am playing on the same level(All Star) and I dont use pitch preview or strikezone either. I have played 17 games now and Giambi already has 8 homers and 20+ RBIs and is batting around .450 - Also I have a guy batting .520 on my team and he has played all 17 games. My record is now 12-5. I think MVP level would show more realistic numbers, but I\'m gonna finish the All Star level first and see if the numbers get better.

I just read that you can only play 1 team in a season. As in me and Jaropkls can\'t get our yearly season going where I\'m the Cubs.

Oh wait I let him be the Cubs last year, so that means it\'s my turn to be the Cubs. hoo-ray.

Anyways about all star baseball only letting you play as 1 team.

That wont do.

and man I\'m hearing bad things about triple play this year.

did anybody buy triple play?

I think IGN gave Triple Play a 3.8 rating. EA must have really messed up this year.

Am I the only one who hasn\'t been impressed by EA games lately? Knockout Kings has been extremely disappointing.

As a life long EA Sports b!tch I can honestly say all of thier games are starting to blow.

real bad.

after last years triple play I decided to try something different this year.

and after this years NBA Live I\'ve decided to get NKA 2k3 next year.

So yeah your not the only one.

P.S. I heard High Heats create a player is lame. Not many options. Is that true?

I haven\'t created any players yet so I cant answer your question. In my season, I just sweeped the Red Sox and took over 1st place in my division, but last night the Mariners kicked my butt. My record is 14-6 now. Giambi still has 8 home runs and the batting averages are starting to lower and become more realistic.
